Stamps Ahead

Here is a layout I have created for White with 1  Earth Cyber Crop that is on this weekend. This layout is for their first challenge  The challenge was White with Earthy Brown with theme Exploring the Outdoors and to use either wood veneer or chipboard.  The story of the photos.  For several years in 1970's and 80's I was a Girl Guide Leader. The Sydney Opera House was opened Queen Elizabeth 11 on 20 October, 1973, so of course the Girls Guides and Leaders headed to Sydney to wait for the Queen to pass by - it was an early start and a long wait for her car to arrive.  Eventually, it was time - there she is - cameras at the ready to capture this moment in time. Well, my photo does show her gloved 'wave' as she passed us by and this was the only view that we got on the day! You probably first thought - what why head to the office when things are not going as planned!  No worries, this office overlooks the beautiful Ocean Beach, Umina Beach, Lion Island at the furtherest point is Palm Beach.  Someone obviously had a sense of humour and it is in a popular spot when you walk along The Esplanade.  I took this photo at the beginning of Covid 19 in the summer of 2020 during one of my walks. I completed this layout for a challenge over at White with 1 Summer Cyber Crop . This is for the first challenge which was to select ONE colour used in the word board below to be added with white and then select ONE of the words which must be included in the title.   I selected the yellowish colour and then the word Lemonade and I made play on "When life.......lemons" I used all Kaszazz products on this layout (with the exception of the black alphas and retired alcohol markers) from Kaszazz Mediterranean Collection.    Thank you for looking,...

I am participating over at White with 1 challenge Facebook page again this month.  The challenge was to use Cranberry with white. Here is my layout: In 2007 Stampin" Up! had a colour called Cranberry Crisp - it was one of my favourites at the time. I still have the inkpad and reinker in my stash.  So out they came! So first, it was time to reink my stamp pad and then I added some of the reinker to water in a spray bottle.  Then using stamps from the newest Kaszazz collection "Destinations" I went to town with background stamping.  I was inspired by a layout by Karen Schultz on Scrappingclearly   blog where she used stamps and other techniques for her background - I have just gone with stamping and misting.  I have given her a shout out on the blog.  Thank you Karen. I am participating in several challenges over at White with 1 Facebook page this weekend. Here is my layout for challenge 3. The challenge was To be inspired by the one of the colours in the background of your photo. I was inspired by the brown colours of the hills and area around Canberra in Australian Capital Territory. Use at least 3 photos. Yep.  The photos are of my friends from Canberra and were taken in March 2019 when I was visiting them.  We went to Arboretum and Rock Garden this day. Use an embellishment that does not really 'go' with the theme of your layout. To me this could be the old fabric doily I found in my stash.  What about the key? Or the paintbrush on the word authentic? Or even the star? This weekend I am participating in the June Cyber Challenges over at White with 1 Facebook page.  Here is my layout for a scavenger hunt, more about this below: The scavenger hunt - we were to search our stash and find the following: 12 x 12 patterned paper from a manufacturer of two words (eg Jillibean Soup). Manufacturers name to be shown.   Something you can use to get messy A journal card Something felt A tag A word in any form 1 piece of 6 x 6 paper Some bling. Here is what I sourced out of my stash: The hardest and longest to find was 'something felt' finally found those blue stars squashed into a corner.  In making the layout, I added other papers and stickers from the Echo Park Magical Adventure range.  Thank you for looking, I love Disneyland and my photos show what the daily line up for both parks looked like each day.  The last time I visited was in May, 2018.  Thank you for looking, Margaret Crafting in the time of Coronavirus.

Here is a layout and card I completed for a challenge over at White with 1 April Cyber Crop.  Well, I cannot enter it as the cut-off date was 1st May (call it isolation brain)....but the grid layout and colour stumped me!!   I got in my head 'grid' and created one layout that of course did not contain blue.  And then the colour! I was thinking light blue, blue flowers, of course nothing in my photos! A long post! The challenge was to create a layout and matching card : Have I created a new technique for my background?  It came to me as I was in slumberland last night. I decided to use my paints from the layout I did for Cocoa Vanilla challenges, as they were out as I had not put them away.  So I created a grid.  Let me show you the process. To get the grid - I first penciled in the lines and then using my brush and ruler painted in the grid lines.  Being sure, to clean the ruler after each line was added!  Learnt that the hard way - ...

Here is a layout I completed today: On Easter Sunday I did a beach walk on Ocean Beach - just about 100 steps up my road - it is my happy place. Now, why did she take a chocolate rabbit, I hear you ask!   A couple of days before this I had given my 93 year old neighbor a chocolate rabbit that was the same as this one.  On Easter Sunday I decided to take an early morning walk and take the chocolate with me and practicing social distancing with said rabbit, took a few photos.   When I got home I printed off one of the photos with the rabbit in and put on her screen door with an Easter Greeting on the back.  She had a great laugh and really appreciated the photo. I was going to enter this into Challenge 2 over at White with 1 April Cyber Crop but as I was typing this entry I realized - EPIC FAIL - I did not meet the criteria.  I used lots of things in my stash but alas not blue!!! No I have not started making dolls!  However, I have completed another challenge over at White with 1 - Challenge 3 another recipe challenge.. Here is my layout - I had inky fun doing it! The recipe involved many elements which I will summarise: Using white cardstock (CS), ink or paint in colour of your choice, spray onto a plastic bag, add some water and then put your hand in the bag and "splodge" onto CS. Ironically, I went with Broken China  Distress Spray and Ink. Using gesso apply to edge of your photos. Loved this idea on these photos. Cut 2 photo mats each increasing by 1/4". On the first one ink edge and then add texture stamp. Using stamps that match your photo randomly stamp on the white CS.  I searched and searched and eventually settled on a texture stamp that had words and butterflies on them.  Cut white CS into various sizes - distress edges, stamp on some, use left over spray on some and leave some white.  Place under photos. Here is a layout I created for White with 1 and their April Cyber Crop - Challenge 1, over on Facebook: It was a recipe challenge.  White plus your favourite colour in my case RED and at least 3 flowers; one picture; washi tape and four patterned papers. Now, having a found the photo of me in Napier, New Zealand that I wanted to use. Now, you would think that I would have lots of red papers in my stash -----not so ----- spent quite a while searching out papers to get at least 4 patterned papers and embellishments.   Black glittery washi tape to add a little sparkle. Close up of the flower cluster: Those with eagle eyes will notice that I incorrectly wrote Dunedin, as the location of this photo of me - oops, now fixed on my layout. Here is a layout I created for a White with 1 challenge ..... to use the colour chocolate. This photo was taken, during a recent visit, at National Arboretum in Canberra and the sculpture, on the top of a hill, refers to a line in Dorothea Mackellar's great Australian poem My Country. The script in the sculpture is inspired by her own handwriting. This layout using Kaszazz chipboard coloured with Coffee Archival Ink, the ink was also used to add colour to the texture paste I have used on the Kaisercraft stencil (waves but ideal for this layout).  I have also used Kaisercraft stamps to complete the layout. Here are a couple of layouts I have just completed for National Scrapbook Day. This photo is of my great nephew when he was born 11 months ago. He will shortly turn 1 so thought it time I scrapbooked it. This was for a challlenge at White with 1 to use a stencil. This layout for a challenge Australian Scrapbook Cruises was to scrap a cruise photo/s. I kept it as a clean and simple layout as the photos were so great. The photos were taken on the deck of Explorer of the Seas as I sailed out of Sydney bound for South Pacific. A storm was approaching and it made for beautiful skies. The ship left earlier from port than planned trying to avoid the storm. Thank you for looking, Margaret

Here is a layout I have created for a challenge over at White with 1 challenge blog - the challenge colour was S izzling Pink.... how could I resist.....one of my favourite colours. Here is my layout: The photo (very over exposed) was taken on 90mile beach in New Zealand in January - it was awesome to the extreme being there.  The skies were fabulous and the beach was beautiful with 4 wheel drive cars using the beach as a road.  Even a coffee cart was on the sand for those that needed their coffee fix. I have used all Kaszazz product on this layout, with the exception of acetate onto which I stamped the Large Vintage Clock then cut it out and the hearts that you can see - for these I used Wild Honey Oxide Distress ink (Quickly becoming a favourite ink) pressed into some bubble wrap that I received with hearts not spots! Today, a layout for White with 1 , the colour this month is Green Flash. I went for a flash of Green using Dylusions paint applied onto the white cardstock.  The photograph is of my sister (left) brother (middle) and me (right) taken at a Bebarfalds store either in the city of Sydney or maybe Ryde where they had a store. That company is long gone.  I have put the photo into a Memory Protector Flip Flaps from Close to My Heart as the back of the photo has some interesting facts. Don't  you just love the name Smiling Snaps.  The writing is our mothers and it was given to our paternal grandparents for Christmas 1957.  My sister and I were as children always dressed alike - we did not mind - our mother made all our clothes. This layout is for a challenge over at White with 1 The challenge was: The colour Niagara. I think this is the first time I have done a challenge at White with 1.  I was in a quandary about just what blue was Niagara.  First a little about the photo - this time last year I was getting ready for a holiday in Europe.  One of the places that the tour went was the Swarovski Factory in Austria.  They had this tunnel of sparkle that you walked through - you can see the many reflections of me and my blue coat in the photo. I kept the layout simple as it just did not suit flowers!!!!   I did use a gelato colour watered down and applied through the circle stencil and also I used a white gel pen with the stencil for bit of added 'whiteness'.   The distressing of the layers is to give the impression that I will walk further into the tunnel - well that is what I was trying to achieve!!!.  Oh, and by the way, I am exaggerated in size in...
