Time is not measured by minutes

Image
This layout is for a challenge over at ARTastic Challenge blog on facebook.   The challenge was to be inspired by this artwork by Adrian Feint called The Green Hen. The additional criteria was "feature things that fly in some way". I was really taken with the colours and the immediate thing that came to my mind was that time flies. I have used elements from two Kaisercraft its - Reminisce and Serenity.  I also used Dylusion Shimmer Spray to colour the chipboards and some sparkles from my stash.   The colours I selected also had to go with that orchid in my Diet Coke.  Some stamping as well to make my own background. The photo is of me celebrating my 70th birthday in Honolulu, Hawaii in December, 2019.  Time does fly 70 already - I can't believe it - I don't feel it - live is good! Thank you for looking, Margaret

Lemon Bliss

Image
This month the challenge at White with 1 is Lemon Bliss.   Here is my layout: Captains Log 5th August, 2020.  I posted this photo and the words to my Facebook page.   Every year I get a small bloom of these mini-daffodils.   The background with the yellow spray was something I created for another challenge but discarded it was just right for this. Thank you for looking, Margaret

Playing with Distress Inks

Image
It seems that Ranger Distress Inks are now the poor relation to Ranger Distress Oxide Inks. I love them both.  So time to get out the Distress Inks and use them in cards for today's classes.  Take any embossing folder and apply distress inks in a random manner. As you can see the embossed layer is smaller than the black mat behind it - intentionally.  As, after you have finishing the inking you cut that panel on an angle and place onto the black mat.  In the space between, I have applied a happy birthday die cut that I coloured with one of the Distress Inks.  A few drops of pearls (or rhinestones) complete the card.   Whilst I had the inks out I also played around with applying the Ranger Distress Ink through a stencil and then attaching a die cut and greet.   All products are Kaszazz and Crafters Companion (some retired product).  A great way to use up scraps from your creating. So quick and easy with great results.    Thank you for looking, Margaret.

Cards in the time of coronavirus

Image
I have designed the following cards for local community group this week - I need to do early in the week so as to allow paper to sit for 72 hours before use.  The inspiration for the card fold came from love Cardmaking Australia magazine Issue 20, pages 70 and 72.  The card features a handmade flower made with a scallop punch and two small white flowers that I colored with Distress Oxide Spray.  Patterned papers are a very old Stampin' Up! range from my stash.  The card was large than a regular 15cm (6") square envelope so I made each of them an envelope to fit using my envelope punch board. For this card I was inspired by a card by Michelle Zindorf that I found on Pinterest , thank you Michelle for the inspiration.  What is not entirely evident is that I applied glitter glue to the dragonfly: Overnight, I had a change of plans!  I decided to ditch the painting, it would take time to dry as well participants would have to share paint and heat guns requiring them to clean after
