Stamps Ahead

I have just returned from a scrapbooking cruise, with Unmistakable Creations , leaving Sydney and arriving in Auckland 10 nights later.  Also, my sister and I spent 4 more days in Auckland before heading home.   One of the highlights of the cruise is making little 4" x 3" cards that are exchanged with others in our group.   Here are mine: I used glossy paper, Ranger Distress Inks, and Ranger Micro Glaze. I am participating in a swap of Artist Trading Cards (ATC) over at Soul Scrappers  themed Summer Fun.  There are 10 participants. ATC's are little just 2.5" x 3.5".  They are a great way to practice new techniques. Here are the cards I created: Summer to me includes ice-cream and gelato - love the colours. As an aside - who remembers Gelato knitting yarns - same colours and I made many a top with them in the day. Now, how did I create these?  I have had Ranger Oxide Distress Inks (only 6 of first issue colours) for sometime now, and like many I have watched Utube, read blogs, scoured Pinterest but never really put 'ink to paper'.  The time is right.  I have used the inks 4 ways: First I 'smooched' the first ink colour onto my craft sheet, sprayed and then lay 12' square of cardstock on top, then proceeded to do the same with 3 other colours, drying as needed between applications. Cold here today, maybe the coldest day of year so far, so why not spend time inside and get my mixed media on.   I am participating in an Artist Trading Card (ATC) swap with Mixed Media as the guideline. Here are my ATC cards. I had fun creating these. How did I make them?  The first thing was I brayered acrylic paints onto old book pages. I have not used brayer for a long time - good to get it out and use it.  The book was old, brittle and showed signs of age. The book "Travels with Charley" I got it for 20c at a flea market.  I have used it on cards previously. Do you see my reference to my title of this post?  A love that it says a "vivid kaleidoscope" so this was what aided my search for just right colours of paint.
