Stamps Ahead

Here is a card I made today.  It is a case (copy & share everything) from a card I saw on Splitcoast Stampers by Heather Freeman . Thank you for your inspiration.  I loved the simplicity of the card and the fact that it could be used for many occasions. For the texture embossed centre I used Kaszazz stencil: Script - Strength with embossing paste. The squares I die cut using Spellbinders Classic Squares Small Nestabilities and the butterfly was die cut from Kaisercraft Decorative Die: Twin Butterflies.  I added some small pearls to the butterfly.  The small square I used mounting tape to raise the surface. I have left a greeting off the front to be applied later when I need a card. ater in the year, I will add this card to a class for my ladies (sorry, gentlemen in the class) to make. Here is a layout I have created for a challenge over at Soul Scrappers .   This time it was a Pick 3 challenge but first my layout: The photos were taken at a team weekend away, in September, for the Kaszazz team of which I am a part of. Lucy our team leader was not in these photos as she was behind the camera. We stayed in a townhouse in Toukley on the shores of Tuggerah Lakes, north of where I live.  On seeing all the seaweed on the beach in front of the townhouse the idea was struck to create Kaszazz on the sand with the seaweed. And then there was an idea to have us create the letters of Kaszazz - well that created much laughter as we just could not seem to get it just right! This clean and simple layout uses all products available from Kaszazz. Yes, I am a consultant. Thank you for looking, I hope to get more time in next few weeks to complete more scrapbook layouts. I made this layout and card for a challenge at our Kaszazz team weekend .  I have used papers from Kaszazz Whimsical Forest (this was the challenge set to use papers from this range).  I have also embossed with texture paste Spring Flowers stencil, randomly stamped Serendipity Background stamp, and a chipboard word "Timeless" that I have coloured with Ranger Archival Ink.  The flowers I have made by using Scallop Circle punch and I handcut the leaves.  All products are available from Kaszazz, leave a message and I am happy to provide all information about the products I have used. This is my layout for April Challenge over at ARTastic . Got a bit creative styling this in a camellia tree. We were to be inspired by this artwork by Josh Miels.  The criteria was to use TYPOGRAPHY on your work. Now how did I get to my layout.  Please read through to the end of this rather longish post. First some research into Typography was done.  An on-line dictionary describes as the art of or process of printing with type; the work of setting and arranging types and printing from them; the general character or appearance of printed matter.  Further research showed that handwritten typography was acceptable.   I was drawn to how the wording on the inspiration photo and how it appeared to almost run down the image.  Could I accomplish this look using mixed media? Getting my mixed media on!!! I had so much fun creating this page today.  I was wanting to use my lonely Gelatos I am sure they were feeling unused and unloved (Okay I know inanimate objects but you have to smile) when I stumbled across a You Tube video by Fiona Paltridge from May 2014.   I did Gesso the background paper before I started as past experiences with water on patterned paper have not been successful. What did I love about Fiona's layout - the washi tape border it is so reminiscent of the borders I do in my patchwork quilts and I wonder why I never thought of it before!!  I loved the layers of gesso, texture paste, gelatos and stamps. The photos where taken last year at Red Rock on the north coast of New South Wales and I had just successfully crossed a very small stream!!! on the way to the Red Rocks.  The photos are actually a mix of me going and coming back from the rocks.
