Stamps Ahead

Settle back this is a long post. Soul Scrappers have a song and lyric challenge this month.  Ends tomorrow so I have just made it in time.  The inspiration was Words by F.R. David, come on sing-a-long: Words, don't come easy to me How can I find a way to make you see I Love You Words don't come easy. The criteria You must use a word....OR a couple of words...OR a sentence OR even the song title on your page. My inspiration was the word "words.  Here is my layout: These photo's were taken at Winston Churchill Museum in Fulton, Missouri. I have kept the layout clean and simple - as it is the words that I want people to read.  You can see that top right that I have made a flip out tag to record my journaling.  Now what are the words that are have been placed on the image of Winston Churchill in that photo?  A chance to know the man better. Layout for another challenge over at Soul Scrappers -f or your assignment I would like you to create a travel layout. It doesn't necessarily need to be 'international' just create something from photos that were taken outside your local neighborhood.  I had these photos still be put onto paper from my holiday in USA last year. My friend Laura (from Jefferson City, Missouri) and I visited a fantastic museum - Winston Churchill Museum in Fulton, Missouri.  If you ever have the chance to visit it is worthwhile. From the website for the museum I quote: In 1946 it was at Westminster College (Fulton) that Winston Churchill delivered one of the most significant speeches of his long and illustrious career. That address, formally entitled, The Sinews of Peace, but best known for that evocative phrase, "An Iron Curtain has descended across the Continent" effectively marked the beginning of the Cold War and linked, forever, Fulton and Westminster College with Win...

One of the most interesting finds of my holiday in USA this year was the Winston Churchill Museum, in Fulton, Missouri.   Located in grounds of the Museum was this sculpture called Breakthrough Sculpture. The artist was Edwina Sandys, a granddaughter of Winston Churchill. From the Winston Churchill Museum website : "One year after the November 9, 1989, fall of the Berlin Wall, artist Edwina Sandys, granddaughter of Winston Churchill, introduced her "Breakthrough" sculpture to a crowd of 7,000 people gathered on the campus of Westminster College. The 11-foot-high by 32-foot-long structure, perhaps the most important monument to be constructed on American soil since the Vietnam War Memorial, began as a dream in the mind of its sculptor."
