Does what you create need a purpose?

Image
I wanted to share with you something I have been working on. One of the artists I follow on-line recently had a quote "Your art does not need a purpose." I loved that saying so decided to finish this portrait style accordion journal that I started at beginning of the year and then put aside as I was stuck by my inner artist and began to doubt where I was going with it. This little journal started out as 3 pieces - I decided to join together. Lots of bits and pieces that were laying on my table with mark making, rustic stitching and more. Unfortunately, the white paint pen I used on the black ink shapes did not come out in the photography - trust me there is doodling there! Thank you looking, Margaret

Mini accordion book - A Grand Legacy

Image
I love making accordion books - they are great as gifts or for recording your own thoughts. Here is one I have created from scraps from Unmistakeable Creations - A Grand Legacy Collection - Card/Elements  pack and some of the 12" x 12" (30cm) cardstock.  Book measures 4" x 4" and has 6 pages with both front and back of each page decorated. Lots of tags, collage, pockets and much more.  Photos follow. Above is the back page and below it has a flap that opens for photos etc. Thank you for staying with me - click on Unmistakeable Creations link above to see the entire Grand Legacy Collection. Approximate size of album is 9.5cm square (3 3/4") A pocket holding tickets and pieces for adding journalling. This flip out will be for me to list the places I visited this year - South Pacific Cruise, another South Pacific Cruise that did not make it to South Pacific due to weather but did go to Airlie Beach and Cairns. I also visited friends in Missouri and Florida in USA.  Finally, I met up with my sister in London UK (she was also travelling) and together we had a car journey around UK, Scotland and Wales.  I put several photos my travel in this journal. This tag was a photo a sign in Florida when I was overwhelmed w...
