Stamps Ahead

 After a long time away from this blog I have decided to revive it to show some of my latest and upcoming projects.  Here is what I have just created. Yesterday, I found a YouTube video from Twisted Paper Studio (thank you) that really inspired me to create dangles for junk journals, using scraps of paper, lace, string - really anything you have close at hand.  I really like that you can also use embossing folders to add extra texture to the dangles. A card that I have made for the ladies (sorry, no men in the class) in the community group where I lead cardmaking classes. I realised when I finished that it did include a couple of rules in Calvinball 2022. I was inspired by a card that I saw on Pinterest - unfortunately the link no longer appears so I am unable to leave some love for the designer.  I used some old patterned paper from Stampin' Up! that I had in my stash.   Why not head to this link    http://scraphappy.org/calvinball  to find out more about Calvinball. I recently watched a video by a fellow Kaszazz consultant Julie Whitechurch where she demonstrated a great way to make to make your own backgrounds on paper.   Here is what I came up with Basically the technique using Distress Inks and Distress Oxide Inks applied to paper with a dry brush to create a checkerboard pattern (leaving white space) then embossing over the top using Embossing Ink applied with a ruler edge - see top right.  I then decided to use a ruler and the edge of an acrylic block.  Next, I decided that I would see what it looked like using Scarlet Distress Mixed Media Embossing Powder and Black Embossing Powder.  Love the result and when I do it next I will not leave as much white space.  I have left a thank you to Julie for the inspiration.  Check out her video, link attached above.  Now to make make into Christmas cards. I was thrilled to be able to hold a Team Training Day, today,  to introduce the new Kaszazz collection to team members and customers can attend.  These are my layouts and cards that were designed by Robyn Owen - each participant pays for receives a kit that allows them to make these, including instructions. Also, I created the following.  The first is a collage of scraps of paper I had left over with stamps, stencil and chipboard from the collection.  The photo, was in a suitcase of photos, that belonged to our uncle and was given to us by his wife following his death.  It contained a lot of family photos and our father was alive at the time and he was able to identify many of the people in the photos.  However, this one I cannot find any reference to - on the back it has a photographers mark in Lismore, and to my knowledge we had no relatives in Lismore area.  I love the photograph as it appears to have been painted with colour as was done in the past...

Here is a layout and card I have designed using all Kaszazz products.  Each month Kaszazz put out a challenge for all consultants to design a project using a certain criteria.  For March it is to use the 3 SB (patterned papers) from the Coastal Oasis collection. I have only used products available from Kaszazz. The stamps I have used are River Bank Un-cut set; Sea Shells; and the greeting on the card is crom Word Montage-Paradise.  I have used half a sheet of Sea Shells chipboard.  I have used Princess Gold embossing powder on the chipboard and the stamp images - don't forget that you need and embossing ink and I have used Distress Inkpad - Clear Embossing.  The chipboard has been attached with Distress Collage Medium. I have made 30 thank you cards that are to be given to volunteers at our local hospitals to say thank you for all that they do.  Here are just a sample of some the cards I made multiples of: Believe it or not these cards are the same size! Techniques - blue card made with embossing paste and watercolour paint. Butterfly card made with Distress Oxide sprays onto a mat then butterfly stamp pressed into the sprays.    Dark pink card made with Distress Oxide Inks sprayed onto watercolour paper, the light pink/mauve card uses Distress Oxide Inks "smooched" onto glossy cardstock and then buffed off. Blue card made with Distress Oxide Inks (can you see I love them!) applied over embossed flower images.  The top right card I made using one of my all time favourite stamp sets (no longer available) Gorgeous Grunge by Stampin' Up! Here is a set of 3 cards I recently made for a team training day (TDD) with our team of Kaszazz Demonstrators.  We were set a challenge to use any of our current chipboard and current product to design our entry. I have double embossed the chipboard.  So what is this?  After first embossing with our gold embossing powder and then embossed again with same powders.  This gives a depth to the chipboard. A great alternative to using foils. The papers our from our Nostalgic collection of papers and stamps. I won a voucher for taking out first prize in our group - as voted on by my fellow team members. I made this layout and card for a challenge at our Kaszazz team weekend .  I have used papers from Kaszazz Whimsical Forest (this was the challenge set to use papers from this range).  I have also embossed with texture paste Spring Flowers stencil, randomly stamped Serendipity Background stamp, and a chipboard word "Timeless" that I have coloured with Ranger Archival Ink.  The flowers I have made by using Scallop Circle punch and I handcut the leaves.  All products are available from Kaszazz, leave a message and I am happy to provide all information about the products I have used.
