Today, I completed another challenge over at Soul Scrappers (why not head over there yourself and join their group - lots of interesting challenges).  This challenge was to take this layout by  Alicia Barry which appeared in the Australian Scrapbook Magazine Issue 27 and be inspired by it. You did not have to use the same paper/embellishments that the designer used.   The idea of the lift challenge is to use the chosen lift layout as a guide and you then put your own interpretation onto the page.  Here is my layout: There was much to inspire me in the original layout - the tearing, the layering of photos and papers, a large banner and the large circles.   I had these photos of my friend, Carol at Blanchard Springs in Arkansas, that we visiting last year when I was holidaying (vacationing) in the USA.  Carol boldly decided to walk around the rocks to the centre rock!!!  Despite there being a no walking on rocks sign that we saw af...

Yesterday, I attended an all day crop day at Shop and Crop, Warner's Bay on the beautiful Lake Macquarie.  Here are just some of the pages I created. This was a sketch challenge that Kylie set.  My photos were taken at Mirror Lake, in the Blanchard Caverns and Springs area of Arkansas, USA.  Here are my friends David and Carol looking at the lake - yes it was just as green and beautiful as in the pictures.  What you cannot see in this small picture here, is that there are people fishing along the side of the lake.  This is not colours I would normally use so it was good to get out of my comfort zone - colour wise. These photos were taken along the Cabot Trail, Cape Breton Highlands National Park, Nova Scotia, Canada where the trail runs along side the Atlantic Ocean.  The pebbles/rocks?  That is the what you walk on - so different to the sand here in Australia.  On the last day of my Trafalgar Tour, Enchanting Maritimes tou...

I was away this weekend on a Scrapbooking Retreat and whilst there managed to get quite a few pages completed.  Here are some I am sharing with you.  Hope you enjoy scrolling down.  This first one is of my friend Reta and I - it was taken whilst we had lunch at a Cracker Barrel in  Kentucky. Reta is 91 years young and it has been many years of friendship between us. The papers and stickers are from Kaisercraft Tea Break Collection and the die-cut accents are from s.e.i that I won at the Mega Scrapbook. Love how the unrelated collections all come together. The inspiration for this layout came from scrapbook ideas magazine, page 78 layout by Karen Leonard. These photos were taken during my visit to Warner Bros Studio - by the magic of the green screen I am transported to the world of Harry Potter. I hand cut the arrow. Blanchard Caverns in Arkansas - a magnificent wander through these caves.  It was hot outside but in the caves it was 53f....
