Stamps Ahead

I created this layout for a challenge over at Soul Scrappers Challenges The challenge is a sketch challenge, here is the sketch that formed the basis of the layout - you could flip it or rotate to suit whatever photos you had, as long as could see the sketch. The photos are of my great-nephew, not yet 4, and were taken today, Easter Sunday, by his mother. My sister and I had got together a few Easter surprises for him that we posted to his home in time for Easter, and you can see my gift in the photo on the left. He loves books of all kinds. Little Golden books were a favourite of mine as a child and I read them constantly - I remember The Twins (always reminded me of my sister and I, we are not twins but just 13 months apart, and dressed alike) and also Dr Dan the Bandage Man (I think because this one had a band-aid in it) and I hope that my great-nephew gets lots of enjoyment out of reading his Easter ones.   I have used papers from my stash on this layout. Here is a layout I completed today: On Easter Sunday I did a beach walk on Ocean Beach - just about 100 steps up my road - it is my happy place. Now, why did she take a chocolate rabbit, I hear you ask!   A couple of days before this I had given my 93 year old neighbor a chocolate rabbit that was the same as this one.  On Easter Sunday I decided to take an early morning walk and take the chocolate with me and practicing social distancing with said rabbit, took a few photos.   When I got home I printed off one of the photos with the rabbit in and put on her screen door with an Easter Greeting on the back.  She had a great laugh and really appreciated the photo. I was going to enter this into Challenge 2 over at White with 1 April Cyber Crop but as I was typing this entry I realized - EPIC FAIL - I did not meet the criteria.  I used lots of things in my stash but alas not blue!!! Another layout for a challenge at Scrappingclearly Share & Inspire facebook  page. Challenge 6 was 'soft and whimsy'. This photo of my great nephew, celebrating his first Easter this year, is just so adorable. I asked my niece if I could use it for this challenge. I loved the cuddliness of that rabbit so I wanted to somehow get that feeling across on my page.  So, what did I do - use white tissue applied with white gesso to white CS.  I then sprayed with Faded Jeans Oxide Ink spray and as I wanted it lighter I also sprayed a little water that I had added Perfect Pearls to, that dabbed with a rag to remove most of the colour.  Here is a closer look: I am not one to do whimsy - I could find nothing in my stash that remotely said whimsy to me and then I remember the tissues my sister gave me as an Easter gift this year.  Voila, separate the plies and adhere with mat medium.   Here are the tissues: When everything was dry I added paper layers, do...

Here is a layout I have created for a challenge over at Scrappingclearly Share & Inspire Group on Facebook. It was challenge No 2 be inspired by Cadbury Colours.                                              I had lunch yesterday with my brother and sister-in-law and they gave me a box of Cadbury Easter eggs to celebrate Easter.  I think they shook their heads when I said "take a photo there is a Cadbury colours scrapbooking challenge on!"  Here is the box of yumminess. Now, purple is a rarely used colour for me - so off I went in search of purple cardstock and embellishments.  The actual packaging I received had lots of hexagons and circles and some purple/mauve so that is the direction I went for my layout.
