Cards made with some of my favourite stamp sets

Image
Do you have stamp sets that you just can't part with?  I do and one of them is this Beautiful Season set from Stampin' Up! (SU)  I think it is long retired but I love it - and with colouring all the rage now why not sit and colour in and de-stress at the same time. And a recent set from SU is called Butterfly Basics (with co-ordinating butterfly dies) and I have used recently retired in-colours.  The small butterfly uses a punch and I have added some antique ribbon top left.  I love how feminine I was able to make the card.  The background was inspired by a card by Lisa Cornwall that I found whilst blog surfing. Thank you for looking, have a great weekend, Margaret :)

A little bit of die (and punch) creating

Image
I made some cards this week and played around with a new die set (more about that later) and also punches. The first is a little note card that was inspired by a class I did with Jillibean Soup at Great Lakes Mega Meet last year.  A great way to use up scraps. These two cards use a new die set I recently purchased.  It is by Sizzix and is called Regal Stand-ups and it contained 22 (yes 22 dies) the cards also used some punches and circle dies I have.   They look great but they are even greater when opened up to an easel card....Don't you just like that chevron die.  To make it and the greetings stick I used Sizzix adhesive sheets - so much easier than using glue.  Stampin' Up! users will recognize the paper and punches.  Here is the side view of the opened card. This card uses torn paper to create the focal point. A clean and simple card. Not a card but I also got my embroidery on this week and embroidered these garden gloves....

Mini-Milk Carton Fun

Image
What "fun" it was to make these.  I say "fun" as I was mini-milk carton die challenged - it took me awhile to get the correct shape going.  I used Stampin' Up! (r) die - it has been around for a few years now, however, this is my first time playing with it.  I am playing around with ideas for a youth group and items they could make.  And our Stampin' Up! group had a challenge to use items from the current Sale-a-bration (SAB) catalogue. In addition to the die, I have used current in-colour DSP paper Coastal Cabana and Whisper White CS. The white CS has been embossed with Decorative Dots Embossing Folder (SAB). The stamps are from the Banner Blast (SAB) with its matching banner punch (SAB), Butterfly punch and the butterfly is finished off with a tie of twine from Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack (SAB)..  The clips are non SU. This shows the embossing more clearly. I really enjoyed making these and I don't think they will be too hard for people of an...
