Birthday card - Spring Meadows Die Cuts

Image
Yippee, card classes that I lead at a local community group are back!  All be it adhering to Covid restrictions in place.  2 of my ladies (sorry, no men in the class) are not back due to recent falls that have put them out of action for several more weeks.  Here, is one of the cards I have prepared for next Friday's class. The card uses Kaszazz Layer Die cuts 7830 - Spring Flower and 7829 - Leafy Sprig. The greeting is from 6297Q Floral Paradise Un-cut set (5 stamps).   That beautiful 1079 - Powder SB Essential paper, that I have used for the mat and top of blue flower, sets off the die cuts wonderfully. Thank you for looking, have a great week ahead, Margaret

Umina Beach Sunset

Image
On the 9th September, 2021 I went for a walk! To my beach - Umina Beach - it is just up the road and over the sand dunes.  I was feeling 'blah' and thought a little walk would do me good.  So off I set, well just as I made it over the sand dune, this glorious sunset was happening and I managed to capture a few photos.  Here is the layout I made today for a challenge over at Soul Scrapers Challenges: The challenge was one of my favourites - a tic tac toe board and I selected 3 photos, the colours of oranges, golds and browns and 3 word title. I used a newly released Kaszazz die - Colour Wheel and die cut the main wheel in the gold and the spokes in orange and brown. I also die the stars with a die that was in my stash. Thank you for looking, Margaret

A challenge when there is no challenge!

In September each year Kaszazz issue a new catalogue and a team training day is held to introduce the new products.  This year, however, is different - and the world-wide Covid pandemic has changed all that. Most states in Australia are in lockdown and it impossible to get together as we normally would.   Whilst official events will not be running, consultants have decided to hold a challenge (usually set by Head Office) using any of our large background stamps.  Here is what I have come up with. The background stamps I have used are French Script Background (4926Q) stamped with Archival Ink Watering Can (AID39006) and Papillon Background (6600Q) stamped with Aquamarine Archival Ink (AIP30577).  The greeting is from Word Montage - Hero (6623M).  The die is Die-Layered - Butterfly (7926). Thank you for looking.  Margaret

Where does inspiration come from?

This week has been and continues to be a week spent indoors.  I have had a rotten head cold and together with this a rather long case of sinus.  Today, feeling a little better but my sides hurt from coughing and still some sinus issues.  Now, enough about me and here are the two cards I designed for my class that I lead at a local community centre. I have written previously that as a Kaszazz consultant I have access to a range of cards and projects created by other consulants.  The creator of this card design was Anne Avery and it is on page 37 of the current Kaszazz catalogue.  It uses one of my favourite papers and stamps from Serendipity collection. I was searching the web when I found many references to a technique called Eclipse.  I decided to use this technique on this card. You first die cut your die onto the background paper and then die cut several more on to, in my case, white cardstock - I cut 4 additional dies, which are then glued together and ...

1990's glamour but where is the photo!

Here is a layout I have completed for another Easter Challenge over at White with 1 The challenge?  Choose one colour from the Easter egg wreath and create a page that must have leaves on it like in the wreath.   I choose the pastel green colour. Now, I rarely wear or create with pastel colours, so this was a challenge. As you can see, I do not have a photo on my layout. Recently, I came across a photo of me that was taken at Hotel Nikko, Darling Harbour in the early 1990's.  The outfit I wore was the colour I have selected. I purchased it at a then well known dress shop in Gordon, NSW.  It was a brocade jacket with a soft floaty skirt.  Where is the photo?  Somewhere in my stash, I recently came across it and probably put it in a safe spot to quickly find later to scrap!!!  These challenges finish shortly and I wanted to be sure I got my challenge in.  I will find it!! The flower and leaf dies and papers are from Kaszazz.  The oth...

Sometimes you just go 'wow'

Image
One of the joys of leading a card class each week, is that I find new and interesting ways to create cards.  Here are two cards that the participants are making this coming Friday. This is a fancy fold called a pyramid or teepee card.  The idea for the card came from a card my sister received from a friend for her recent birthday.  I first searched the internet and came across many videos and posts on how the card was made.   I decided to go with double-sided patterned paper (retired Kaszazz papers) that has weight to it.  The participants can choose what side of the paper they want to use.  Hand-made flowers and scroll complete the front of the card.  The card has been closed with very thin magnets.   Greeting is inside the pyramid/teepee.  The card will fold flat for postage. This card use a stamp set from Fun Stampers Journey 'Lovely Day' and a die from 'Albums made Easy-Instagram' by We R Memory Keepers.  I have coloured si...

One-sheet wonder cards

Image
So today, I am trying something new for me - completing a one-sheet (12" x 12") of paper to make 14 cards.   I went with a Christmas theme. Here is what I made: With a one-sheet wonder you follow a recipe.   Here is the recipe I followed given by Lucy Jones, my Kaszazz upline:  I went with a Christmas theme (never too early) and the cards use all Kaszazz product.  Papers and stamps from Christmas Morning collection and stamps from Tis' the season collection. All dies are still current. A little secret - it has taken me 1 day to get my cards together!  I thought it would be quicker, and I enjoyed the process of using my stash to create the cards.  I went looking for my dies - saying (to myself) I know you are here, where are you, finally found exactly where I put them last time!!! Here is a close up of some of the cards - I have a ready collection of cards ready for when my community card classes do start up again.   Than...
