Stamps Ahead

I was asked, by a friend, to make a wedding card for her neighbours who are getting married at the end of month.  The request was silver embossing. For this card I used Kaszazz stamps 6712K Happy Birthday Sunflowers and hearts are from 6377Q Collage Stamp - Cupid (you get 6 stamps in this set).  The greeting and surrounding dots are from stamps  in my stash.   After stamping with Versamark embossing ink and then embossed with silver embossing ink. I made a quick dash to Spotlight to get the silver glitter paper and silver rhinestones. Thank you for looking, Margaret  

Well readers, this week my "Mojo" decided to have a holiday.  So many things going on - not the least a migraine that really saps energy.  I needed to design and make one more card for a class I lead on Fridays - 14 ladies.  Everything I looked at in books, on Pinterest, in Google to me were too hard, too simple, too ????.    I regularly participate in challenges on Soul Scrappers and today when I checked there was a card by Karen Findlay (Design Team member) and it sparked me into action. Here is my card: After finishing it, it still needed something and so the final card will have the star embossing also on the blue star inset. Thank you Karen for sparking me into action.  I have left you a message of thanks on Soul Scrappers. Now that I have found that "Mojo" let's hope it continues as I still have a few challenges I want to create for. Margaret.

Earlier this month I posted some photos  of cards I made for a local Making Music group.  I have had fun creating some more and here are two cards made using distress inks and white embossing powder. The stamps came from a give away in a magazine and I thought to myself at the time - I will never use these.  It just goes to show 'never say never'. These cards could be used for either a boy or a girl, what do you think? Thanks for looking, Margaret :)

I have been asked to make some birthday cards for children aged 1 - 4 for a local group called Mainly Music.  Here are a some I have created so far.   Ahoy - the pirate card uses product from Close to my Heart including stamps from Pirate Birthday and papers, which I is now I believe no longer current.   I have stamped and coloured with my Stampin'Up! markers. The butterfly, from Kaisercraft, has been heat embossed with white embossing powder and then sponged with a pink stamp ink. Thank you for looking, keep cool in the heat.   Margaret

Here are a few Christmas cards I created for a class I lead at a local community college. This was first one I played with - using distress inks. I did not end up going with these colours for the ladies and stuck to more conservative Christmas colours for the one below.  This card using stamps that were 'freebies' in a Papercraft magazine this year.  I went with the gold embossing to create this elegant card. For quite awhile I have been getting emails from Splitcoast Stampers (SS), I must admit that I usually just quickly peruse and think 'one day'.   Well, that day has come.  They are currently have some challenges running and this card is for one of them - Watercolour technique must use gold on your card.  Here is my card. It is similar to the one I posted earlier today - of course it is.  I made that card for SS challenge only to realise when I went to upload it to their blog I HAD NOT USED GOLD.   Okay, back to the paint and brush I went.  This time I have used gold embossing - challenge met (tick). It is wet here today so a great day to spend indoors creating cards and scrapbook pages. Thank you for looking, Margaret :)

This card is inspired by a card created by Kerry Crocker (not sure if Kerry reads my blog or if she has a blog I can link this to).  It uses non-traditional stamps, in this case Betsy's Blossoms by Stampin' Up!(r) and retired SU inks.  The WOW factor in this card is the clear embossing and sponging over the embossed images and surrounds - the photograph captures the embossing magnificently.  Why not consider using non-traditional Christmas stamps on your next project?   This was created for a class I taught recently at a local community centre and the ladies had the option to put another greeting and several put Happy Birthday.
