Stamps Ahead

I have just returned from a scrapbooking cruise, with Unmistakable Creations , leaving Sydney and arriving in Auckland 10 nights later.  Also, my sister and I spent 4 more days in Auckland before heading home.   One of the highlights of the cruise is making little 4" x 3" cards that are exchanged with others in our group.   Here are mine: I used glossy paper, Ranger Distress Inks, and Ranger Micro Glaze. See my earlier post on how I created the backgrounds - magic!  Stamps and stencil I have used are all available from Kaszazz.  Here are just a few of the 30 plus I created.  All different - amazing.  Close up of a couple Close up of a couple more. Here is the title page for my scrapbook layouts from the above cruise.  It was designed by Melissa Kennedy of Unmistakable Creations .  It was the very first layout we created in our classes whilst at sea.  Here I am ready to start the classes and wearing the apron that Melissa gave to each of us.  Papers are from Kaisercraft (with a note that Melissa specifically arranged for the paper with our ports of call to be included in our kit). I am just back from a South Pacific (including Tonga) cruise that ended in Auckland, NZ, my sister flew over from Sydney to join me there and we had 8 days along the top end coast of New Zealand. One wet day we decided to stay in and scrapbook for the day.   I had just come off a Scrapbooking rruise with Unmistakable Creations and had got her some papers whilst on board. I showed her some challenges on Soul Scrappers and here is what we did. My layout is for their Layout Challenge SC118: I have used Kaisercraft range Whispering Ivy and this paper range was one that we used on the cruise, I have used left overs from the kit supplied to create this layout. The large flower was fussy cut. What is not evident on this photo is under the cluster on middle left there is a white doily poking out.  Photos to be added later. Back again today, with a layout just completed for a challenge over at Soul Scrappers : Here is the grid we were given. As you can probably guess I selected the first column downwards. The photos are from the scrapbooking cruise with Unmistakeable Creations earlier this year.  These photos show the group at work in the dedicated scrapbooking area of the convention room on the ship.  I have used lots of left over papers, stickers, embellishments etc and embossing paste shells on the layout. We are expecting record high winter temperatures here today, so why not a bright layout. This is a photo of my sister taken on our cruise in April this year.  My sister is currently overseas and she found a scrapbooking magazine in France and posted it back to me.  She had handwritten a note on a layout she found in the magazine - see below.  (note the other handwriting is mine translating the ingredients for the layout) So I accepted her challenge and my layout is the result.  I used Dylusions Paints and pages from an old dictionary on which to apply the paints.  My stash provided everything else. Today I created another layout from our cruise in April.  Here my sister and I are dressed for a cocktail party that our group had on our final evening of cruising.   I was inspired by a 2013 layout by Marie-Pierre Capistran   that I found whilst web surfing. Thank you for your inspiration and I have left her some thanks on her blog. Using Distress Stains I diluted them and applied to paper with brush in long random strokes.  A Mason Jar Stamp by Heartfelt Creations was then added when the ink had dried.  At the same time as painting I also painted onto a scrap of paper to use for embellishments.   Splotches of the paint were added randomly. I do not usually work in pastel colours and overall I love the result.  I just need to add some journaling. Thank you for looking, Margaret :)

Just back from a cruise around the South Pacific and Fiji on the Explorer of the Seas.   I was part of a scrapbooking group Unmistakable Creations organized by Melissa Kennedy. We avoided Cyclone Cook.  Here is the ship at anchor Mystery Island.  And here am I, in the Conference Room that was our scrapping destination for classes on the at sea days and whenever we wanted to wander down. Classes were led by Melissa and we created so many fabulous pages.   It was on Level 2 of the ship. Before the cruise it was decided that we would participate in a 3" x 4" project life type card swap.  We were to make 36 and they were swapped during the afternoon of our first day at sea. Techniques I used were acrylic painted background, stamping, and doodling. We were also to make a name tag to place into our lanyard. Both of these are now headed to my cruise album, that I am working on now that I am back on dry land.  Thank you for looking....
