Christmas tree 2021

Image
I created this layout for a challenge over at Soul Scrappers Challenges.  It was a mystery bag challenge - the mystery was to create a layout using 'baubles"  This is my new small tree for this year - it is only about 30cm high.  I went into my box of decoration memories and choose those with red in them.  All my decorations are special to me - there are some from holidays, some given to me by my sister, some I made and some given by friends.  Each decoration has a memory attached to it. I searched all my dies looking for Christmas themed ones that would suit my layout.  I also added some wood embellishments in red or unpainted. Thank you for looking, Margaret

Inspiration Series (2)

Where does this inspiration for the card below come from? and the inside once you lift the card out of the flap top right: On the 24th June I blogged about an interactive birthday card  that I created for the card group that I lead at a local community group.  One of the ladies commented that it would make a great Christmas card.  Therefore, my inspiration has come from revisiting that card.   I did watercolour the images however any colouring medium will work. Thank you for looking, Margaret

Inspiration series (1)

I am often asked 'where do you get your ideas?"  One method is to seek out a sketch and start from there. Here is a card I made yesterday: Where did I get my inspiration?  Firstly I searched the internet "free card sketches" and I found this sketch here . You can also find sketches in magazines or books available from your local library. Sketches can take the guesswork out of designing cards. You can get amazing results by flipping or stretching the sketch. For my Christmas card  I “stretched” into a rectangle card.   My card uses Kaszazz products - background paper is from Christmas Morning collection (I love all the papers in this collection) called Vanilla (5760), SB Essentials Evergreen (1086) and Crimson (1069). The stamps I have used are from Word Montage - Christmas Morning (6013M - 6 versatile stamps), stars are from Santa Down Under (6448M also includes Santa in sleigh pulled by Kangaroos) and the Christmas Tree is from a recently released set called St...

Christmas 2020

Image
It is New Years Eve (morning) and I have completed this layout for a challenge over at Soul Scrappers .  The challenge was a Christmas themed layout. These photos were taken on Christmas Day.  My sister came to my home and we had breakfast together. The first unexpected moment - apologies from my sister she left my gift sitting under the tree at her home. No worries, I said, we are heading over to yours after breakfast with our brother and sister-in-law.  The bottom right shows my table decorations, including the beautiful poinsettia I received from the executive of local community group where I lead the card classes. Now about the photos of my sister and I. The mask  was a gift from a friend, so the unexpected moment - I decided a photo of me wearing the fun Christmas mask was required to say thank you and I sent a photo message to her.  My sister, is displaying the Santa with mask decoration I gave her.  We are mask wearers and very aware of pr...

I loved it as soon as I saw it whilst scrolling through the web.  I have left a thank you on her page. I loved that dove die so much I made another card this morning 21st October. I have used Kaszazz stamps - World Background (6419Q) and Word Montage - Christian Christmas (4749M) and Ranger Distress Ink vintage photo. Thank you for looking, Margaret

One-sheet wonder cards

Image
So today, I am trying something new for me - completing a one-sheet (12" x 12") of paper to make 14 cards.   I went with a Christmas theme. Here is what I made: With a one-sheet wonder you follow a recipe.   Here is the recipe I followed given by Lucy Jones, my Kaszazz upline:  I went with a Christmas theme (never too early) and the cards use all Kaszazz product.  Papers and stamps from Christmas Morning collection and stamps from Tis' the season collection. All dies are still current. A little secret - it has taken me 1 day to get my cards together!  I thought it would be quicker, and I enjoyed the process of using my stash to create the cards.  I went looking for my dies - saying (to myself) I know you are here, where are you, finally found exactly where I put them last time!!! Here is a close up of some of the cards - I have a ready collection of cards ready for when my community card classes do start up again.   Than...

Christmas Morning decorations

Image
This is the 21st layout I designed for the Kissi fundraising event yesterday.  It uses paper and stamps from Kaszazz Christmas Morning collection.   All product is available from Kaszazz.  The ladies used stamp ink to colour their chipboard pieces. Again another layout that enables many of those Christmas photos to be added. A good time was had by all and they all enjoyed learning new skills - even those that have done many scrapbooking classes with me. Thank you for looking, Margaret.

Christmas Clean and Simple layout

Image
It has been so hot here in Australia today, no doubt the news will tell us it was a record breaking heat. So after leading the card class I have each Friday at a local community group I quickly put together this layout. This is a clean and simple layout that uses Kaszazz stamps and papers from the Christmas Morning collection. A great way to use up scraps - these were left over from a double page layout I have created and will publish later - it is for a scrapbooking workshop I am leading at the end of November. The photo (of me) was taken 5 years ago when I visited an evening Christmas Market in Germany with my sister. Thank you for looking, Margaret.
