Stamps Ahead

It is raining on the Central Coast today.  Yippee - let's hope that the country areas of Australia are getting it as well. This weekend I am off to a wedding.  I have known the bride-to-be since she was born.  So happy for her for her special day.  Here is the card I made for them. and I made a matching envelope using Envelope Punch Board. I used a much loved Stampin' Up! sets that I have had forever - I just cannot part with them.  They are so versatile, especially for elegant wedding cards. The medallion  is from a set of the same name and the words are from Wonderful Words, this has a date of 2004! Another challenge completed over at Scrapbook Challenges.  This time it was a challenge to use a previous SC sketch layout and then add: 4 patterned papers (I actually used 5 as the strip to the left seemed to blend into the background Card Stock. 1 fibre (twine, ribbon etc - I used ribbon that I ruched up as I used glue dots to adhere) Minimum 1 stamped image (My favourite Medallion Stamp from Stampin' Up!) Minimum 1 technique (ink, sanding, tearing etc I distresse the edges of wide blue strip to imitate the waves, and also use ink around the Memories title) Minimum 2 metal bits - around the ribbon and bottom left The photographs were taken earlier this month when my sister and I were walking along Waikiki Beach in Hawaii. Enjoy.  I am "on a roll" with my scrapbooking this weekend.

Firstly, this card design was popular with the ladies of the local craft group, who have been making Christmas cards for the troops for the past 4 weeks.  Together they completed 286 cards that I will deliver to Paper Lady, Karen ,who founded and co-ordinates this initiative, on Saturday.  Contact her if you would like to be involved. Tomorrow I am attending a wedding and here is the card I have made for the happy couple. The colour was inspired by the ribbon around their wedding invitation. Looking for a less traditional wedding card I went blog surfing and I found a card by Christine Miller on which I based this card. My thanks also go to Jayne for lending me her stamp.
