Stamps Ahead

On Saturday night I participated in a Blind Scrap Challenge via video and here is layout I created during the blind scrap and another I made on Sunday. This was the layout I completed during the blind scrap challenge video.  I used a favourite paper collection - Marigold from Kaisercraft.  On Sunday, with the benefit of more time, I was able to listen again to video and I must confess, take some notes and I completed this layout.  This time I used 49 and Market Curators Botanical collection.  My sister also participated and here is her layout  For the challenge there was a mood board, and we were to use this to inspire us to use the colours indicated on the card and we were given instructions beforehand on cutting papers.  Look at all those circles in the photo!  Here is a layout I created for week 3 of Mystical Scrapbooks Retro TV show competition This week's inspiration - Lassie (a female Rough Collie dog) that ran from 1954 to 1974.  I remember as a family sitting down to watch together the tales of Lassie and her friends, both animal and human. What I here you ask - you have not a dog on your layout?  The design team were inspired by Lassie and the beautiful scenery in the show and that is what they used for their challenge. I have used Kaisercraft Marigold collection.  The photo of me was taken earlier this year and the papers suited the Boho dress I was wearing.  I have fussy cut flowers from 2 sheets of paper and layered them up on my layout. The string was used to create a banner. There was a sticker sheet in the paper collection I have used words that inspire me as I live my life.  Of course, I could not let the layout go without some 'bling'! This is a clean and simple layout I have completed for a challenge at Whitewith1 - this time the colour was Mandarin.    This is a photo of my friend, Trish and I in December, last year.  We both have birthdays around the same time and our friend presented us with this cake when we were at her home. I had to go back and look at the photographs after I took a photo of the layout as I thought I got the sun on the photos as it looked blurry - alas,  no the photographs show it was the candles alight that was causing the blurriness - well let's not talk about the combined ages will we!!! I did keep the layout rather clean and simple, I used Kaisercraft Marigold collection and fussy cut the roses then I used a Chinese Orange (sorry no mandarin found) alcohol ink marker for the dots you see.    Thank you for looking, Margaret

Another layout today for Paper Issues challenges.  This challenge called "Fall back in time" - use old techniques to create a layout. My layout incorporated torn paper, fussy cutting, a sheet of old rubon alphas and eyelets.  I really had fun creating this layout of Melissa Kennedy, owner of Unmistakable Creations, scrapbook teacher and creative designer for Kaisercraft.  I had the opportunity to attend a class with Melissa in country Victoria recently. Melissa loves fussy cutting and most of her classes include this technique - so this is my homage to her!!! The papers are Kaisercraft.   A close up - what is interesting the eyelets are years old and as soon as I started hammering the paint start of come off - that is how old they are! Yesterday, I was the class leader of a scrapbooking day that raised funds for a school in Kissi, Kenya. Here are the layouts that I taught. Many people also contributed to the day with food, donations of goods etc. Thank you to everyone. I do not represent any particular company and use product from many sources.  Where possible today I have indicated those sources.  Melissa Kennedy owner of Unmistakable Creations kindly donated packs of Kaisercraft Marigold papers and stickers to the event.   Here is the first layout that they got to make  - now several of the ladies wanted to make a 'boy' page and in the pack was paper suitable for them to create a male version of the page.    The photo on my layout was taken on our April Cruise with Melissa - why not check out her website Unmistakable Creations  and see what cruises she has coming up.
