Stamps Ahead

Over the next 3 days I am participating in a virtual scrapbook event. Here is the layout from the class I did today. The retreat is being hosted by Hillbilly Scrappin' - The Great Papercraft Caper Virtual Retreat. The tutor for this class was Jo Johnson from 3Quarter Designs and the collection is called Mocha Fix. The photos were taken when my sister and I were in Bath, UK last year and we headed out for breakfast on our 2nd day to a local cafe - I know not 2pm as my clock face shows on the layout - a little bit of creative licence.  My sister loves her coffee, and I am a tea drinker. In my last post I shared the single page Sunflower layout that I had made for a recent class that I held. A friend really liked the layout and requested that I make her a double page layout.  Here it is: Unfortunately, the weather here today is overcast and rainy and the layout does not show the glittering wings of the Bumble Bee.   More photos below. Now, the good news, my layout also qualifies for Calvinball 2022 - A fun and entertaining scrapbook challenge for March, based on the cartoon characters Calvin and Hobbs. They would make up rules for the games they played - the rules could be added or taken away at any time. Every day new rules are added to Calvinball and you total up your points for whatever you have made. For example my layout got to 11 points and this is how they came to be: Double page layout - 2 points Polka dots (the base paper) - 1 point Green (the dots and leaves) - 1 point Bees - 1 point (not 2 points you can only count once) Hand coloured images - ...

 Here is a double layout that I completed today.                            It was made using Kaszazz Home Sweet Home Collection of papers  - Scattered Posies and Pretty Posies, and also used is Olive SB Essential cardstock also available from Kaszazz.  The layout was inspired by a layout completed by Jo Collingwood, a Kaszazz consulant, that was published by Kaszazz.   I have modified the layout to suit my photos. I have given thanks to Jo for the inspiration.  Also, I completed the actual layout for my sister this past week, as she too loved the layout design. The photos are of my sister and I when we went for breakfast at a local nursery - Impact Plants and Cafe, Empire Bay recently.   Their garden was full of the most wonderful colour that really 'popped' after recent rain. This is the 21st layout I designed for the Kissi fundraising event yesterday.  It uses paper and stamps from Kaszazz Christmas Morning collection.   All product is available from Kaszazz.  The ladies used stamp ink to colour their chipboard pieces. Again another layout that enables many of those Christmas photos to be added. A good time was had by all and they all enjoyed learning new skills - even those that have done many scrapbooking classes with me. Thank you for looking, Margaret.

This is a double page layout using Kaszazz Tis'the Season collection of stamps and papers.  It is a modified version of a layout by Kerry Collins, a fellow Kaszazz Consultant.  Yesterday I lead a fund raising day of scrapbooking to raise funds for Skills for Life, Kissi Kenya.  The ladies completed two layouts this was the second one. I recently led a group of ladies to complete this double page layout.  The brief was double page, masculine and not to complicated.  Here it is: The layout was inspired by a layout by Julie Nankervis, also a Kaszazz consultant, in the current Kaszazz catalogue. I made several changes to suit the requirements of the group I was leading.  The layout uses papers and stamps from Kaszazz Distress Surfaces collection. Distress inks used for stamping. The star chipboards were coloured with Distress paint and this was also mixed into Texture paste used to make the bricks.   These are also available from Kaszazz. The ladies really enjoyed completing the layout.  It is versatile and could easily be used for travel photos as well as for the males in your life. Thank you for looking, Margaret

Today, I led scrapbooking classes locally, to raise funds for Mango Tree Academy in Kissi, Kenya. 12 ladies came and they made two double page layouts that I designed especially for the day. This layout uses Serendipity range of papers available from Kaszazz - all embellishments are also from Kaszazz.  I have yet to add my photos.   The chipboard was first painted with gesso and then stamp ink applied and finally Glossy Accents added for that extra sheen. This layout again uses paper and chipboard embellishments available from Kaszazz.  There are two papers not Kaszazz - corrugated orange on bottom and the solid orange squares.   Die cuts of Koala, gum leaves and words are by other suppliers. Both these layouts were designed for multiple photos something that the ladies have requested in the past. A great day was had and funds raised to give back to others. I am leading a scrapbooking workshop this coming Saturday.  It is a fund raiser that will assist raise funds for a school in Kenya.   The ladies, most of whom I know, love to use new techniques to them. A long post follows, so please stay with me. The first is a single page layout and they will be making the following layout, which I have shared previously on my blog: The ladies will choose their own Dylusions Spray Inks to create their own background to match their photo of choice. Well, it has nearly been a month since I completed a layout - I have been busy - busy good - and also on a short break in Central Australia. Today, I wanted to create a layout, and here is what I came up with, a double page layout. When my sister and I went on a cruise in April this year, I found out that there would be a 'pink' moon on 11 April.  I was excited when on boarding our boat I found out we were on the side that the moon what be appearing. So come 11 April, I was ready with my camera. Unfortunately the sky did not come to the party and the pink I was expecting so why?
