A Thank You mini-book

Image
I had a birthday last December, and on my actual birthday with my sister and friends, Robyn and Col we went to The Summit restaurant for dinner. Col helped by taking some of the photos above and Robyn found the 'sixty margaret' on a building in Sydney city and so I just had to use on the cover of this mini-book. It opens up as shown. This was not my original idea - I first got the idea from a Stampin'Up! (r) project. I had made this earlier but I did not want to post until they had received it. By the way the Strawberry Souffle was fabulous and check out the candle they put on it for me. A great night, great food, great company.

Happy Birthday Heather

I have seen this type of step card on several blogs - it is not new, but I loved the 3-D effect that the accordion folds give. I have used various techniques - watercolour paper flowers, flowers from Pretties kit, punched flowers, rhinestone brads, a stamped die-cuts andrub-ons that are not now available from Stampin'Up! but they suited the card just right. She can remove all the elements and put onto a scrapbook page later if she wants to. Happy birthday, Heather and enjoy the year ahead. It is going to be a hot day in Sydney today - so keep cool all, I am headed out to brunch later for Heather's birthday.

Cyberchallenge 2 - Black, white and orange.

Clare's second challenge - black, white and orange. Certainly well out of my comfort zone using orange. Here is my card. Images:(c)1990-2009 Stampin'Up!(r) Artwork:Margaret L Crawford

Watercolouring Fifth Avenue Floral

Image
Images:(c)1990-2009 Stampin'Up!(r) Artwork: Margaret L Crawford Watercolouring is so much fun. As many know, I am an INKling group member and Jayne recently shared with us some of her techniques for using re-inkers (the bottles of ink that you can use to re-ink your stamp pads). I put this card together rather quickly - the longest part is waiting for the watercoloured flower to dry completely before adhering it to the card. This technique is found in many places on the web, but Jayne's instructions made it all clear. Enjoy.

The first challenge was to use the colours Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery and Taken with Teal. I have used new products available from Stampin'Up! new catalogue.
