Stamps Ahead

Here are the cards the ladies made today. I based this card on one I saw in Australian Simply Cards Issue 89.   The papers and die are from Kaisercraft. The inspiration for this card came from Close to My Heart Seasonal Expressions catalogue May - August 2016.  I changed it up from the example in the catalogue.  This is the inside of the card. Today, a layout for White with 1 , the colour this month is Green Flash. I went for a flash of Green using Dylusions paint applied onto the white cardstock.  The photograph is of my sister (left) brother (middle) and me (right) taken at a Bebarfalds store either in the city of Sydney or maybe Ryde where they had a store. That company is long gone.  I have put the photo into a Memory Protector Flip Flaps from Close to My Heart as the back of the photo has some interesting facts. Don't  you just love the name Smiling Snaps.  The writing is our mothers and it was given to our paternal grandparents for Christmas 1957.  My sister and I were as children always dressed alike - we did not mind - our mother made all our clothes. Here are some more layouts I completed during the past weekend at the retreat I went to, enjoy and I would love you to comment (if you are able) as I love to see where the visitors to my blog come from. I appreciate all the comments (except spam that is instantly deleted). Thanks, so settle back as I write a little about each layout. Recently, I went around to my sisters and said "it is a beautiful day let's head out for lunch and a bit of relaxation."  So we grabbed a couple of sandwiches, soft drinks and a cake from local shops, and headed to the waterfront at Woy Woy in New South Wales.  Just down the road for us about 5 minutes away.   The pelicans were resting on the shoreline, and sure enough this one, we nicknamed "Mr Percival" came over to join us as we ate - shoo, go, we have no food etc etc but he (I am assuming a he) stayed for awhile and looked at us as begging for a handout.  Not that day!!! The organizer of the retreat sets a bingo challenge...

Here are a few more layouts that I created on a recent scrapbook retreat weekend that I attended. The first one is of our old family home in Asquith, New South Wales. This was my grandparents home (you can see them on the front porch) and we spent a good deal of time with them and even moved in when our rented place (one street away) was sold.   So many happy memories of time there. Scrapbook retreat fun - tropical theme.  I smile everytime I look at the right hand photo - it looks as though I am wearing an elaborate headdress!!!   Papers and embellishments from Close to my Heart (CTMH).  Tropical seems to be a current trend in the papercraft world, love the washi tape and the pink adhesive sequins.... Another layout using CTMH products.  The photos are of my sister and I enjoying a high tea at a café that had a special deal.   I love exploring and discovering new places for a high tea - what made this on different? ...

Here is a layout I have created for ARTastic  Challenge blog.  Happiness is a birthday dinner for my sister at a local restaurant that is fast becoming a tradition.  It is the third time we have visited on her birthday.  The challenge was to be inspired by this artwork by John Maitland called 7 girls running. The only other criteria was GIRLS ONLY.   Funny, as all our life we have been referred to as 'the girls' - you know 'How are you girls?" "What are the girls doing now?" etc etc I loved the colours and blue being my sister's favourite colour it was a no brainer to use a blue cardstock.  Most of the other papers and stamps come from Close to my Heart (CTMH).  I was inspired by the lineup of girls and I remembered that somewhere I had just the sketch that would be suitable Scrapbook Trends 2012-  so I decided to do a double page incorporating photos that I took -. no dancing though!!!!
