Stamps Ahead

 A layout I have today created for a tic-tac-toe challenge at Soul Scrappers. The challenge grid. I selected stamping (2 favourite texture stamps applied with white paint and Arrows stamped in Archival Ink); Hexagons (die cut to various sizes - the smaller ones I scrunched up and applied Vintage Photo Vintage Photo ink to mimic the stones on the beach) and 1 photo of me taken on Llandudno Beach, Wales on 25th July 2024.    I used Unmistakable Creations Water's Edge collection papers and embellishments.   Thank you for looking, Margaret

Summer 2024 I was visiting my friend Kathy, and we visited Disneyworld on one hot day.  Here is another layout I have created for a challenge at Soul Scrapper Challenges This was a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge and here is the grid I selected 3-word title, summer theme and bold patterned paper.  We arrived as Disneyworld on opening and walked and walked all over Epcot, not to mention riding the rides and lunch Disney style - the heat was getting to us, so we decided to hop onto the monorail and head to Disney Polynesian Resort for some much-needed air-conditioning, putting up our feet and relaxing before heading out again.   I have used Kaisercraft Bombay Sunset collection for this layout. If you look closely at my photo in the middle, you will see I am wearing an ice-scarf a necessary accessory on this day.  Thank you for looking, Margaret

This is a layout I have created for a challenge over at SOUL Scrappers Challenges.  The challenge is a favourite of mine - Tic Tac Toe (TTT). Here is the TTT board - my selection die cuts, staples and tag (s) I went mixed media on this layout - gesso, Vintage Photo Crackle Paste, watercolour splotches and much more.  Die cuts/tags - all tags were die cut and covered. The orange cogs were die cut.  I also added some old and rusty 'things' I recently recovered, locally, from being thrown out! Staples - holding the title I stamped on calico.. Staples also on the tags to represent the cell bars.   This is what the layout looks like with tags tucked in the side.  Note: that gentleman you see is one of the exhibits in the ground.  Of course, he had to be included.  Here is my layout for the 3rd and final challenge at White with 1 Earth cyber crop. This was a Tic Tac Toe challenge (one of my favourite forms of challenge criteria).  Here is the board.  I selected straight down the middle - wood veneer, earth theme and stencil background (texture paste mixed with Bundled Sage Distress Oxide Ink).  I search my stash for any wood veneer flowers and the hearts and any other wood veneer I thought would work.  You may be able to see that I also added a shimmer to give that extra sparkle!                                                      I have had this photo of water lilies forever!  I took it years ago when my father was alive and I took him for a drive and if memory serves me well it was in the Hawkesbury area.  Here is a layout I have created today for a Tic Tac Toe challenge over at Soul Scrappers Challenges The challenge board - I choose twine, black and white photo and one-word sentiment. The photo is of our grandfather (Pop) standing beside the Crawford Road street sign.  I estimate the photo was taken in about 1970 or earlier.  Google tells me that Neptune Oil was sold to Shell in 1975. From Lake Macquarie Library community history an entry records "Crawford Road was named after a local resident in 1930's by R.H.Marshall, the timekeeper of the relief workers road gangs. A locally name road it appears to have been named officially in 1948." As a family, we know that our grandparents had a dairy and residence in Crawford Road. It provided an essential service during the wars providing milk and food to the good folk of Morriset and Cooranbong before moving to Asquith to run a general store.  It became of right of passage that we would travel to Morriset, often taking our...

On the 9th September, 2021 I went for a walk! To my beach - Umina Beach - it is just up the road and over the sand dunes.  I was feeling 'blah' and thought a little walk would do me good.  So off I set, well just as I made it over the sand dune, this glorious sunset was happening and I managed to capture a few photos.  Here is the layout I made today for a challenge over at Soul Scrapers Challenges: The challenge was one of my favourites - a tic tac toe board and I selected 3 photos, the colours of oranges, golds and browns and 3 word title. I used a newly released Kaszazz die - Colour Wheel and die cut the main wheel in the gold and the spokes in orange and brown. I also die the stars with a die that was in my stash. Back again today, with a layout just completed for a challenge over at Soul Scrappers : Here is the grid we were given. As you can probably guess I selected the first column downwards. The photos are from the scrapbooking cruise with Unmistakeable Creations earlier this year.  These photos show the group at work in the dedicated scrapbooking area of the convention room on the ship.  I have used lots of left over papers, stickers, embellishments etc and embossing paste shells on the layout. My last post for today - I need to unpack my supplies from the weekend, have dinner and settle down to watch some television. Another challenge at Soul Scrappers this time my favourite - a Tic Tac Toe challenge. In my last post I shared photos of my camel ride at Uluru Camel Farm - well all was not lost there was this fantastic quintessentially view in the grounds.  Look you can even see Uluru.  I was inspired by a layout I found at Dark Room Door .  Now the challenge grid looked like this: I selected stamping, 3 photos and 2 pattern papers. I also created the background on the white cardstock using Distress Oxide Ink and gold spray.  The windmill stamp is by Kasazz and I have stamped random words also on this background.  My stash provided the remainder of the embellishments. One of the most beautiful days I have ever spent was at Mt Titlus in the Swiss Alps.  Endless snow and views for miles.  This photo was taken from a cable car as you wind your way up to the top. I called this mountain here "My mountain" as it was viewable from just about everywhere from Engelberg to the top of the Mt Titlis. I was inspired by a Tic Tac Toe challenge at Soul Scrappers  to create this mixed media page.  Here is the challenge: I selected the right hand column. I first put white gesso onto the patterned paper, let it dry and then sprayed with gold, when this dried I applied a chevron mask and used Distress Ink. The image is definitely frosty/chilly.  For the something recycled I have used the white paper that you get as inserts when you purchase inserts for your layouts - this is sprayed with the gold spray and cut into 2" strips.  I have also used buttons from my collection that I have found at op shops/fetes over the years and...
