Autumn in Longreach, Qld 2026

Image
This is a layout I created for a challenge over at The Hut Creative  - the challenge Autumn. 20/3/26 Autumn evening in Longreach, Qld. Journalling is on the tag in the middle popping out of the bottom 2 photos. Rosebank homestead was a detour as planned Thompson River sunset cruise did not happen due to flood.   Beautiful views of sunset.  I used paper from Penelope Dee Sienna collection. Thank you for looking.  Margaret  Another quote from the collection, that I did not use. "Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire."

Another challenge layout

Image
The April challenge over at White with 1 is green with nature.  Here is my layout  The photo was taken during a walk around Constable Country - where artist John Constable based a lot of his paintings.  We took this walk after visiting Flatford Mill in Sussex England last year. A clean and simple layout using paint applied with credit card and finished with a randomly drawn edge. Thank you for looking, Margaret

Arriving home to Sydney

Image
Twice in one day! This time the layout is sunrise in Sydney, taken from my cabin window on Level 3, at 6am on the 9th February, 2025.  How special were these views - the start of a magnificent day ahead.  This layout truly uses bits and pieces from my stash - I cannot tell you how long I have had the chipboard clockface!  If you read yesterday's post, you see my reference to using Project Life cards - well one more has been reduced from my stash. Thank you for looking, Margaret  #calvinball #calvinball 2025 #scraphappy

Creativity at any age.

Image
Well, I have been on a roll.  Here is another layout created for a challenge at Soul Scrapper Challenges : The challenge HEARTS...anything goes as long as you have at least SIX HEARTS on the page, you are good to go!   Heart bubble wrap and hand cut hearts - got it covered!  The photo shows a drawing my great nephew did recently when I spent some time with him.  Remember he is only 6!  I was drawing stick figures until only a few years ago and I am not 6!  I created a pocket on back of layout to put his original drawing in. I did find a quote that I want to share with you and that I have recorded on the layout that seemed appropriate for his artwork.   "Creativity is a lot like looking through a kaleidoscope. You look at a set of elements the same ones everyone does but then reassemble those floating bits and pieces into enticing new possibilities." Rosabeth Moss Fenton Thank you for looking, Margaret

Amazing you.

Image
This clean and simple layout was created for a challenge at White with One . We were to be inspired by one colour in this mood board and it was to be a summer theme.  The photo is of my amazing great nephew and taken on New Years Eve 2024. Now if you squint into the Kiwi drink, top right I was inspired by the 2nd layer of colour that just happened to match the sunset in the photo.   I firstly sprayed 2 sheets of white cardstock with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Grape Ape (a very old bottle in my stash).  The second sheet I cut into strips and used punch on one edge of paper and then I simply scrunched up the strips before adhering to the layout alternating sprayed and white. My arthritic fingers were not happy I am sure - but I persevered! Thank you looking, Margaret

A little spice goes a long way!

I am back from my recent cruise - more on that below.  Here are some layouts I have created using 49 & Market ARTOPTIONS SPICE collection.  This collection did not form part of the classes on board however was included for us to use as and when we pleased. Photo taken whilst creating in the conference room, Level 13 of Royal Caribbean Ovation of the Seas. Photo taken by photographer on board the ship.   Ready for my photo to be added.  The base layout paper when placed the way I have, had butterflies upside side - simple remedy add butterflies from embellishment pack over them!  Now the cruise - arrived at Sydney Terminal to board only to be told that due to Vila still recovering from the earthquake in December we would be heading to Airlie Beach instead. No worries understood completely and feeling for the people of Vanuatu who rely on the tourists so much.  Before leaving Airlie Beach, we received an announcement from the captain that due to cycl...

Clean and Simple Scrapbooking

Image
I have found myself returning to clean and simple scrapbook layouts recently.  Here is a layout I created for my sister using some last remaining Kaisercraft Wandering Ivy collection items. She is off on holidays later in the year and she can add her own photos later. Blue is her favourite colour. Thank you for looking, Margaret

Cropping on The Central Coast

Image
On Saturday 29th November, I went on a 24 hour crop with The Central Coast Croppers Group.  Here is what I created:  My sister and I at what became the start of our "scone journey" through England, Scotland and Wales in April/May this year.  Here we are Windsor Farm Shop, Windsor UK.  I have used Bee Arty "Full Circle" kit.  I did add some of my own stamps, stencil and modelling paste.  Inspired by a layout on Bee Arty Creative Group Facebook paper by Julie Schinkel.  I have used Bee Arty papers from their newest collection - Addicted to Grunge.   Tarrah McLean created this layout and included in our cost were the supplies to create it.  I followed instruction - no diversions!!!  As I type I see that the string of one of the decorations has fallen off - okay need to fix that NOW. We were also set 2 optional challenges - see above.  Now of course, I was prepared to do non-Christmas layouts - luckily there was a fellow cropper se...

Morning Tea @ Jane Austen Museum, Bath

Image
This is a layout I have created for White with 1 challenges - this month it is to use Orange (or any of its tones) and to use stamping.  There was a mood board for inspiration. This was the mood board: My inspiration - the windows in the building bottom right. A clean and simple layout.  I stamped the squares and needed to highlight them by going around with a black pen.  I used Abandoned Coral paint for stamping/chipboard and I did check and Coral is an orange tone (it is also in the pink tones but stronger as an orange tone). This mood board is also working, in conjunction, with Soul Scrappers this month so I have also posted to their challenges as well. Thank you for looking, Margaret

Chatsworth House Farm Shop and Tea rooms.

Image
This layout was taken at Chatsworth House Farm shop, in the Derbyshire Dales, on a bright and sunny day in July.  Unfortunately, for us not many sunny days during our 5 weeks in UK, so really put on a summer dress to celebrate.  I have just received a beautiful dress (not the one in the photograph above) I ordered from lovenelli.com.au  and included was this wonderful card - just perfect for adding to this layout. The produce in the cafe and shop was from the Chatsworth Estate, a wonderful way to spend a lunch. After lunch we went on further to Chatsworth House with more from there to come. Thank you for looking and I hope you find some colour in your day today.  Margaret
