Calvinball 2019 Day 4

Image
Okay, so I didn't complete challenges 1 and 2 as yet. Challenge 4 was put up so I  went with it.  Here is my layout: It is no shock to know that pink is my favourite colour .... all shades. The bonus points for this round were: Use memorabilia.  I have used pieces of guipure lace that belonged to my mother, they are many years old as she passed away at a very young age, only 49. She was a tailoress/dressmaker and I have put in a die cut pair of scissors to recognise this.  Use  a stamp.  I used 3 stamps ... 2 bottom left and grunge spots thoughout the layout. Use a black and white photo.  The selfie photo was taken at Disneyland, LA last year as I rode the train around the park in very hot weather.  If you look closely I printed it with a slight hue to co-ordinate with papers I chose. Hope this is acceptable. Print or put away 5 layouts.  Done, put into album the layouts I designed for weekend fund raiser and others just sitting aro...

Taking a selfie memory

Image
I just don't take good selfies - however, this one I am somewhat pleased with at least I am not frowning but the arms!  I have completed this layout for a challenge over at Soul Scrappers : The challenge was to pick 3 from these - the color blue ( blue background paper, title); use at least 2 different patterned papers (I got this one) ; sequins (red and gold stars); use at least 3 pictures; stars (yep, gold sequins); ribbon (ric rac passes as ribbon does it not); foil.   It was a hot day the day I went to St Louis Zoo in June, it was recommended to me by several people.  This train provided some much need shade as well as transport around the zoo.  Thank you for looking, Margaret :)

"W" for Washi Tape

Image
Here is a clean and simple layout that I have completed for a letter challenge over at Soul Scrappers .  The letter "W" and the criteria was to use Washi Tape. My word W "waiting". I have used washi tape in a number of ways - as strips, journaling on it, and as a pennant.  The banner was so that I could incorporate other colours in the photograph. I took the "double selfie" of my sister and I whilst waiting for the start of Premiers Gala Concert in April, this year - "Puttin' on the Ritz".  One of the joys of being a "senior" is that each year you apply to attend this free concert during Seniors celebrations.  Thanks need to go to our friend, Jan who gave us her tickets as she could not attend.  This is a close up of the pennant banner I made, the first time I have used Washi to create a banner.  The next challenge at Soul Scrappers  is to use the letter "V" and the criteria is Vellum - let me see if I can search o...

Selfie with Santa

Image
This photo was taken in Engelberg, Switzerland.   I was inspired by a layout in a French Scrapbooking magazine - Passion Scrapbooking (what a great name) No. 59.  Am I getting better at this selfie thing?  If you call cutting half my face off - I am not so sure!!! Cheers, and every good wish for 2016, Margaret

Keep calm & ......................

I have completed this layout for challenge over at Challenge YOUself . The challenge was to create a layout as shown below: Now, I have never mastered this taking a selfie thing - I suppose this one, that I took earlier this year, comes the closest to one I am happy with.  The alphas I die cut first in pink and then as they did not stand out, I shadowed them with black cardstock: I have taken the photo tonight and it does not really do the pink colours justice, however I wanted to get challenge in as it finishes on 4th September. Thank you for looking and take a selfie today.   Margaret :)
