Stamps Ahead

Last night I attended a local youth club and together they each created an Easter card to be given to residents at local retirement villages and others.   Here are the cards they created.  My thanks to my sister (mentor to the group) for her assistance and making card inserts to write their name. The card I designed for them uses a reverse stencil technique.  They first inked up Distress Oxide ink onto a craft sheet/acrylic block/plastic then sprayed with water.  Next, place the stencil into the water/ink and then lay it onto the white cardstock and then press to transfer the inks and dry with a heat gun.  The tag/cross I prepared for each card.  The cross die was a long ago free purchase with a magazine.  The youth enjoyed making their card for donation Thank you for looking, Margaret

Here are the cards for the class I lead at local community group.  As I write this entry it is 'bucketing' down with rain.  The east coast of New South Wales is experiencing a wet weather experience, it is expected for several days.                                             The participants have the opportunity to change the sentiment to suit whatever occasion they want.  I found this card design on Pinterest and unfortunately a rather long search has failed for me to find it again.  I love the simplicity of this card and the movement of the rhinestones.  The blue butterfly was first coloured with markers and then die cut. Easter is nearly upon us.  Again, participants can select whatever greeting they want if they do not want an Easter card. The remainder of elements come from my stash. I lead a community card class each Friday during school terms.   With Easter approaching I asked my ladies (there are no men attending) did they want to make an Easter Card.  Yes, BUT they did not want bunnies, chickens, eggs, yellow, pastel colours etc. So I came up with this card - they loved it. I found the design on Pinterest - it is a great way to use up scraps of paper. This card is going onto an Easter card challenge on Soul Scrappers. Thank you for looking, Margaret.

I have recently agreed to lead a class of cardmaking at a local community group once a week.  Here are a couple of cards that the ladies made with me last week. For the first card I was inspired by a video by Sandi McIver .  I have had the Stampin' Up! Pleasant Poppies stamp for ages and have never used it.   It is a background stamp and is full of lots of poppies and I think that is what held me back.   I love this card, it uses the faux letterpress background and have used markers to colour the images. The ladies also had the option of changing the greeting to suit their needs.  Thank you Sandi for your inspiration.
