Stamps Ahead

Here is a layout I have created today for a challenge on ARTastic Challenge Blog  facebook page. The challenge was to use pen work.  We were to be inspired by this work by Thea Proctor called "The Game". Now anyone who knows me that sport of any kind is not really my thing, okay, maybe several years of playing social squash in the distant past with friends - does that count!  Remember the game of squash? I believe it has largely disappeared as a sport. I was not sure if I would enter this challenge, the thoughts of pen work did not just come to me easily. And, then I remember 'zentangles'.  What are zentangles?  They are a fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns - tangles. You use combinations of dots, lines, simple curves, s-curves etc.  I have not done much in the way of zentangles so this was indeed fun to do. I am participating in several challenges over at White with 1 Facebook page this weekend. Here is my layout for challenge 3. The challenge was To be inspired by the one of the colours in the background of your photo. I was inspired by the brown colours of the hills and area around Canberra in Australian Capital Territory. Use at least 3 photos. Yep.  The photos are of my friends from Canberra and were taken in March 2019 when I was visiting them.  We went to Arboretum and Rock Garden this day. Use an embellishment that does not really 'go' with the theme of your layout. To me this could be the old fabric doily I found in my stash.  What about the key? Or the paintbrush on the word authentic? Or even the star? Here is a layout I created for a White with 1 challenge ..... to use the colour chocolate. This photo was taken, during a recent visit, at National Arboretum in Canberra and the sculpture, on the top of a hill, refers to a line in Dorothea Mackellar's great Australian poem My Country. The script in the sculpture is inspired by her own handwriting. This layout using Kaszazz chipboard coloured with Coffee Archival Ink, the ink was also used to add colour to the texture paste I have used on the Kaisercraft stencil (waves but ideal for this layout).  I have also used Kaisercraft stamps to complete the layout.
