Arriving home to Sydney

Image
Twice in one day! This time the layout is sunrise in Sydney, taken from my cabin window on Level 3, at 6am on the 9th February, 2025.  How special were these views - the start of a magnificent day ahead.  This layout truly uses bits and pieces from my stash - I cannot tell you how long I have had the chipboard clockface!  If you read yesterday's post, you see my reference to using Project Life cards - well one more has been reduced from my stash. Thank you for looking, Margaret  #calvinball #calvinball 2025 #scraphappy

Calvinball 2019 Day 6

Image
Here is my layout for Day 6. Day 6 rules: Use graph paper. Searched my stash no graph paper what's the bet I find some tonight! Use a map/globe.   Use cloud paper/embellishment.   Use pocket card on non pocket layout.  I used the pocket card for part of my title. Use citrus fruit! Another what the moment! Title with 5 words.  Added true to pocket card. Use a hedgehog!  Don't look you won't find one! From previous days and still current for layouts: Use old product...the wood veneer Sydney Harbour Bridge Wood veneer .... the globe as well as bridge Use your own handwriting.  Bottom right. Photo taken on the deck as we left Sydney bound for New Zealand  Thank you for looking

Australia Day challenges continued.

Time for challenge no. 3 over at Scrappingclearly .  Here is my layout: The challenge was to create an inspirational layout inspired by famous Australian landmark.  I have been fortunate enough to be able to travel to many places in the world and flying back into Sydney over the Sydney Harbour Bridge says "I am home". As I was creating this layout I was reminded of the John Williamson song "Give me a home among the gum trees" (written by B.Brown and W.Johnson).  So of course, I had to use some of the lyrics and added my own touch.  The layout design is a favourite 'go to' Simple Stories sketch. The photographs of "The Bridge" or "The Coathanger" as it is often called were taken many years ago, Barangoo had not been started (or even approved for construction I would think), it will be interesting to see if in the future it becomes an iconic landmark of Sydney. Thank you for looking, Margaret :)

Sydney, Saturday, Spring and Sunshine - Out and about

Image
Saturday - lunch at a restaurant in Woolwich on Parramatta River with my sister. Lovely meal with views to Sydney. These photos were taken with my mobile phone - why oh why do I not have my Nikon with me when I need it.

A night out in Sydney

Image
Last night, my sister and I went for dinner at The Summit Restuarant, above the City of Sydney. As part of the Sydney Festival there are 30 old pianos spread across the city and we chanced upon one in Australia Square. Who cannot love Sydney with views like these?
