Stamps Ahead

 Week 3 of the postcard challenge over at Junk Journal Ideas and Inspiration on Facebook. The prompt "Change can be beautiful".  Here is my postcard. I have used collage and used pictures from various sources of fashions over the years, unfortunately most of disappeared under the layers I have used....I'm not worried I know they are there! The words are from old stickers I had in my stash - still not sure about them so have not as yet fully glued them dow...I will wait a few days and see if I come up with anything else. I did think of adding a lace and fabric cluster but it just did not work!   Thank you for looking, Margaret.

Yesterday, the time had come to welcome 10 ladies to my Creative Canvas workshop. Please enjoy their beautiful and colourful work.  Rather than compress the photos I am giving them to you in all their glory.   I want to thank Laly Mille for her Art Soul Retreat back in July that has inspired me greatly. I have sent a thank you to her for this inspiration.  Want to know more about Laly why not check out her website   A big thank you also to the ladies who attended - for all this was a new creative experience - I hope that you enjoyed it as much as I did putting it all together for you.  Margaret and to quote Albert Einstein Creativity is intelligence having fun.

It is 12.32am here on East Coast of New South Wales and later today I will be leading a workshop with some local ladies on the Central Coast.  They will be creating a mixed media collage/abstract art canvas.  More on that later in another post.  Here are some of the items I have prepared for them..                                                       For each participant I created this little folder of goodies and a name tag.  Each person was asked their favourite colour and I have prepared a kit for them in that colour.  Each kit contains papers (including some tea dyed papers I made), fabric and lace pieces, bits and pieces. Inside also includes a small vellum envelope I madethat holds the lace and smaller surprise items. The back holds more 'yumminess". The folder is held together with a tea dyed torn calico tie. Day 3 of free on-line Artist Soul Retreat with Laly Mille.  I must say I was gob-smacked that I created this canvas "I'M AN ARTIST"  I even went shopping this morning and bought 2 tubes of Liquitex Acrylic Paint and a set of Liquitex Acrylic Iridescents!!  Laly's video was a demonstration of her making her canvas - so many ideas,  I have used some of the bits and pieces on my mood board (however, not the original elements as I glued them down and they are not moving for anyone) and new bits and pieces.  I did use a bit of stamping this time.  My focal point is a small piece of jeans denim with texture paste dot stencil - I used this on my Day 2 pieces and I loved it. And if you look top left you will see the Fortune Cookie I got yesterday - looking now with the white Posca pen around it - it looks 3D! There is a challenge over at Paper Issues (Friends & Fans) called Scrabble.  The criteria was to purge your Thickers collection and show just how fun  your title can be. Create an intersecting tile or use alpha tiles on your page.  Well, I may have gone 'off-piste' with my entry.  Here it is: This morning whilst out in blogland I found a blog  called A bit of everything.  Lorna had created a mixed media notebook (click on the link above) and I was inspired to create something similar with whatever I had in my stash. I have wanted to use up the so many chipboard alphas that I have for some time.  I was originally going to do a book cover as well - however, I remembered I had many a small canvas sitting idle for so long.  I thought start small and see how it goes.
