Challenge 5 - Scrap Girls at Home Retreat

Image
So I am doing the challenges out of order - I know.   Challenge 5 was to make something with the scraps left over from completing the challenges. Here is my card - can you see where I got my scraps from? Yes they are from the pastel challenge.   I had lots of torn scraps, my brad container was still open and my sewing machine was still up.  A quick and easy card to complete - I did sew the strips onto a green piece of paper, see right to give it stability.  Inside is a smaller piece of patched papers that I could slip a gift card into or a tag or note. My favourite form of patchwork is doing this strip patching in fabric - I would tear fabric and expose some of the torn edges - so I suppose I am going back to my patchwork days in doing this card. Thanks for looking.   Margaret :)

A clean and simple Thank You.

A clean and simple card I have created using all Stampin'Up! (r) products.  I have die cut the circle and the greeting/glitter flash.  It was inspired by a card that was in a previous SU publication.  The card is suitable for mass production - and this is just what I wanted as I put together kits for a group of ladies to make cards for a local church fete in May. You could change the greeting to suit your occasion.  Suitable for all skill levels. Such a bright and happy card. Thank you for stopping by, have a great day, a wonderful autumn day is shaping up here on the Central Coast of New South Wales.   Margaret :)

Thank you cards

I needed to make some simple 3" x 3" thank you cards and it was Washi Tape for me this time. This one uses Stampin' Up! (r) Watercolour Wonder Washi Tape available in Celebrate Every Day catalogue due out 28th January.  This is a sneak peak for you.  The greeting is from the Perfectly Penned set in current annual catalogue.  I loved it so much I repeated with the Retro Fresh Washi Tape available in the same catalogue. As you can see I did not measure the tape, each card is different and I carried the tape over to the back of the card. Don't you just love the flower holder - I found it in a charity shop for $2.00 - love a bargain, and I think it is vintage or dare I say Retro!! Thank you looking and have a great day.   Margaret

Thinking Paris

Image
I am thinking all things Europe at present - why? A couple of reasons, but the first one is that I am having a table at a Christmas market in the next few weeks. It has a European Christmas theme. Okay, so this is not a Christmas card, it is a Thank You card as I have made some non-Christmas cards so that I have a range of cards for sale. I have been in a distressing (as in ink/paper distressing) mode recently and this card uses Ranger Distress Ink. I love this Stampin' Up! (r) stamp set that is now retired I believe. Some lace and ribbon from my stash add to the vintage feel that I was wanting. Off now to make some similar birthday cards. Have a great day everyone.

Thank you card

A thank you card

Back in August, I wrote that I was making christmas cards for a fellow stamper to raise funds for the Hemophillic Association, well Marelle has sent me one of her cards as a thank you. It is great to get mail from friends and family in Australia and overseas. Thanks Marelle. Images: (c) 1990-2008 Stampin' Up! (r) Images: Marelle Taylor

Today 9 of my students from Class A assisted with Class B by leading group discussions. As thank you I made each of them a small Thank You card. I have used a mixture of supplies from two Simply Sent Kits - Sending Happy Thoughts and Friendly Thoughts. The greeting came from Occasionally. Images: (c) 1990-2008 Stampin'Up! Here is a card I have made this week. It is an example of a card that can be made without flowers. I love the crimped strip and how it appears to match the texture of the gingham ribbon. I have used Lexicon of Love (108855) and Jumbo Wheel Speckled (107465) Images © Stampin' Up! 1990-2007 ® Artwork Margaret L Crawford
