Stamps Ahead

This week has been and continues to be a week spent indoors.  I have had a rotten head cold and together with this a rather long case of sinus.  Today, feeling a little better but my sides hurt from coughing and still some sinus issues.  Now, enough about me and here are the two cards I designed for my class that I lead at a local community centre. I have written previously that as a Kaszazz consultant I have access to a range of cards and projects created by other consulants.  The creator of this card design was Anne Avery and it is on page 37 of the current Kaszazz catalogue.  It uses one of my favourite papers and stamps from Serendipity collection. I was searching the web when I found many references to a technique called Eclipse.  I decided to use this technique on this card. This week the card class I lead at a local community group return, after the Easter School Holidays break.  Here are the cards for this week. This fun fold card showcases the beautiful papers from Home Sweet Home collection and Cute Panda stamps available from Kaszazz.  My thanks to Lucy Jones for her initial inspiration for this card. Interested in purchasing these products head to my website  www.kaszazz.com/cart?consid=110787 Inspiration for card designs come from many places, in this case an early 1990's papercraft magazine and I was taken by the corrugated cardstock embellishment.  I have used an old paper corrugator that I have had to make the panel on this card.  The card is 5.9" square. The Franceville paper I found at Spotlight.  The gum flower/bud stamp is available from Kaszazz - Flowering Gum Un-cut Set (3 stamps) and it complemented the paper beautifully. One of the joys of leading a card class each week, is that I find new and interesting ways to create cards.  Here are two cards that the participants are making this coming Friday. This is a fancy fold called a pyramid or teepee card.  The idea for the card came from a card my sister received from a friend for her recent birthday.  I first searched the internet and came across many videos and posts on how the card was made.   I decided to go with double-sided patterned paper (retired Kaszazz papers) that has weight to it.  The participants can choose what side of the paper they want to use.  Hand-made flowers and scroll complete the front of the card.  The card has been closed with very thin magnets.   Greeting is inside the pyramid/teepee.  The card will fold flat for postage. A set I designed for a class I led on Thursday night. First the explosion card inside details.  Instructions for the card fold I got from the internet....just goggle....how to make an explosion card.  The set The ladies had fun making it and lots of laughs as they managed the fold. I am putting these 3 cards into challenges over at Soul Scrappers . As many know I lead a cardmaking group at a local community group and for several weeks we have been making Christmas cards.  The following are just some of the cards the ladies made.  Challenge was to create a card with a fancy fold.  Here is look at what card looks like when open from above. Another view showing the double cards that make up the fold. Papers (except glitter paper) and inks are from Kaszazz.  The "JOY" was lent to me from a friend. If you look closely you can see that JOY has been die cut many times - 3 times in black plus the centre "O" with manger scene once in red and the star at top of "O".   They were then glued together to form a raised embellishment. This challenge was to create a card with an added wreath.   All products are Kasazz.   The painting was done with Liquid Pearls and water. This challenge was to create a card that had holly added....
