Aussie Christmas Layout

Image
Here is a layout I have created today, continuing with the Australiana theme of recent days. I have coloured the chipboard with Ranger Distress Oxide Ink - Barn Door and applied glossy accents to give it a shine.  The kookaburra has been coloured with watercolour pencils and then fussy cut and applied with foam tape.  Thank you for looking, Margaret

Time take to enjoy the small moments

Here is a layout I have completed for an October challenge at Paper Issues (Friends and Fans ) facebook page.  The challenge is all about the colour black. Stick with an all black palette while minimizing other colours. Black is associated with power, fear, mystery, strength, authority, elegance, death, aggression, rebellion and sophistication.   I took this photo of a leaf with raindrops several weeks ago as I walked to my car.   Take time to enjoy the small moments - that inspire or take your breath away. Onto my black textured cardstock I used Heavy Black Gesso through a stencil and roughed it up with my palette knive to give it more texture.   I finished the layout with a chipboard 'moments" that I coloured with black ink and then applied Glossy Accents over it.  The added addition of some black rhinestones provided the sparkle I was looking for. I have kept the layout simple as the photograph to me is the 'star'. Now, what did I learn about ...

Gel Printing 101+

Here I have been playing with my gel plate again - should have been cleaning up the table - but guess what was on that said table? Yes, my gel plate so I got distracted!  Nothing new.  Here is a card I created with today's efforts.  Using masks to create trees. I love the multiple layers of colour I created.  This time I used the little tubes of acrylic paint to get the background and added white to tone down the colour.  When I was happy with my background I then applied masks of triangles/trees  to pull off some of the colour.  To finish off I highlighted the shapes with black marker, used a stencil to get the circles and then coloured with crayons (I had loads of packets of watercolour crayons so went with those).  Finally, a little bit of glossy accents over the circles and 'joy' stamp as it has a 'christmassy' feel to it. Here is a close up showing the glossy accents: I was inspired by a blog post I found by Itsamistry Desi...
