Stamps Ahead

Challenge 4 at Cocoa Vanilla Studio was to use more than 1 photo and create a title from different fonts.   Here is my layout: I have used Cocoa Vanilla Wild at Heart papers again.  I was inspired to use the Grow Wild flower paper as it was a close match to the outfit I was wearing.  A few bits of left overs from yesterdays layout also used.   I have created tags and I have done my journaling on them.  All the embellishments came from my stash and I created the scallop flower - one of my favourite ways of creating flowers. About the photo.  It was taken on 8th December, 1993.  I am with my father (who if he was still alive would have been 100 in March this year) and we had lunch at a restaurant at Coal and Candle Creek, situated east of Cottage Point, in Sydney. In my post yesterday I shared a single page layout I had created.  I have now added a pocket page to make it a double layout. Close up of the pocket page.  Photos from top right - enjoying dinner, enjoying lunch, enjoying Pearl Harbour parade after dinner.   Isn't that what holidays are all about - enjoyment!  Close up of the main layout. Here is layout I have created for Soul Scrappers current Tic Tac Toe challenge. On 8th December, 2015 I was in Vienna as part of a Trafalgar Christmas Market Tour.  This day was my birthday, we had a fantastic day touring Vienna and in the evening a meal and musical performance.  Trafalgar organized a cake for me at dinner with this enormous shooting candle - you can see my reaction in the top photo on my layout, boy did we laugh.  There was also a card signed by everyone on the tour given to me. Here is the Tic Tac Toe grid: I have selected - Red cardstock, sequins and doodle. I doddled - is that even a word! - extra hexagons, in two of the corners and added doddled dots.   A great way to celebrate a birthday.   Thank you for looking, Margaret :)

These photos of my sister and I have been just waiting to be scrapped since January, 2014. It was her birthday and we went out to dinner at a local restaurant.  Every time I picked them up thinking "I will get them on a layout today" it just did not work.  I think I was put off by the colours, and all softness of the photos. Today, was the day I did something about them.  I have combined two challenges.  The first was this sketch from The Memory Nest  The second is a challenge at Soul Scrappers and it uses the Tic Tac Toe format  I went for the three running down the right hand side.   The something old was the flower cluster that I have had in my stash for years - I think it was originally intended for me to make into a brooch but that never happened!  The spray I used was Glimmer Mist Forest Green, and if I am honest I have also had this for many years ever since Glimmer Mist was the "in" product.  I also sprayed the ...

LOAD Challenge has a facebook page that I came across where we are challenged to do a LOAD monthly challenge... LayOut A Day... not to hard... cards, layouts.. let's get them done!!! The Memory Nest Make It Monday No.30 sketch was the inspiration for this layout.  The added twist was to use stamping on the background.  This is another mixed media background that I completed recently, I was not really impressed with my efforts - it used distress inks, paper, acrylic paint, masking with spray mists and yes - it had some stamping on it!!!!  Excellent just right for this layout - so glad I did not toss this one!!! Aurora is the daughter of friends and she recently turned one and I was invited to her birthday celebration at a riverside park.   Now, we of course are not wearing co-ordinating clothing, so I added some cotton lace to matting to tie the two main colours in.  I am reminded of many years ago when cottage craft was all the go (I even taught a class in this) and we made padded photo frames.  I have hand drawn the hearts and some doodling around the edges.   Some Washi Tape and brads sprinkled around for extra ...
