Stamps Ahead

 This is the 2nd week of postcard challenge over at Junk Journal Ideas and Inspiration. The prompt was "The earth laughs in flowers".  It is a quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson. Here is my postcard. Here is my process - I adhered strips of page to a 4" x 6" piece of scrap cardstock. I then applied Gesso over the adhered strips to lighten them. Once dry, I used texture paste and a stencil of the world onto the postcard and allowed it to dry.  I then fussy cut all the flowers, bird and butterfly and attached to bottom left of the postcard. I hand wrote the quote on a piece of co-ordinated paper that I die cut into the shape of a ticket.  Finally, I draw around the postcard with black  marker. Thank you for looking, Margaret

 Here is a card I created yesterday,  The stamp is a long retired Magnolia stamp.  The magnolia is not hand coloured...I stamped the image onto 2 patterned papers - one green (total stamp) and on the 'pinky' colour (just the flower).  I then fussy cut each of these and layered the flower onto the green leaves.   I made another version of this card and instead of Happy Birthday I changed to 'Thinking of you' with this card being sent to a friend doing it hard at the moment. My area is still in lockdown and will be until end of the month, after that who knows!  Take care all, stay safe. I see more creating in my near future. Margaret 

 Here is a layout I have completed for a challenge over at Unmistakable Creations on Facebook. The challenge was to use these papers created by Melissa the owner of Unmistakable Creations.  I had to download them from the website  and print on white cardstock.   Our mother passed away in 1974 at only 49 years of age.   My memories are strong of the short time that we had with her.  She was a constant inspiration, her life was plagued by ill-health but she always managed to bounce back with a smile and an overwhelming desire to get in the car and drive again.  I do not have many photos and those that I have are gradually being put onto scrapbook layouts.  This photo is of my parents wedding day in 1948 as I could not find a suitable photo of just Mum alone.  Here is another layout I have completed for a challenge at Paper Issues (Friends and Fans) .  The challenge is called Operation - challenges this month are named after games.  The criteria is "Pull out those surgical instruments and put those motor skills to the test! Show us your fussy cutting skills, use your die cutting machine, or show us how well you can sew up your layout".  I went with fussy cutting.  The papers and stamps are from Kaisercraft Serenity Collection .  I have added some die cuts from another Kaisercraft collection Fleur. Ink is Ranger Distress Oxide speckled egg.  The chipboard is from Kaszazz. The photo is of my sister (left) and I.  I would say we are 10 and 11 years of age (yes, we are very close in age - just 13 months difference).  Our mother made all our clothes, as I remember it these dresses were a green velveteen. The penultimate challenge over at Cocoa Vanilla Studio International Scrapbook Day Celebration. Who says you only scrap people, homes, scenery etc.  I love flowers and the Peace Rose has a special significance to me. Here is my layout: The challenge was to create a project using 5 elements chipboard.  I have use beautiful and moments chipboard from Kaszazz.  I stamped with pink ink the chipboard pieces and then applied glossy accents. die cut title.  I found a packet of Cocoa Vanilla Studio Die Cut Ephemera in my stash - as luck would have it as I only thought at beginning of challenges I only had 4 sheets of patterned paper from their collection.  I used the word sweet. a flair button.   A little hard to find in my stash - I don't have many of these, but did find the heart flair that was just right - how old it is I have no idea. enamel dots were placed around the layout in 3 colours of pink. and something fussy cut.   I fussy cut a from a pa...

Here is a shabby chic layout I have completed.  The photo was taken on my birthday in December whilst in Hawaii.  I have used papers and stamps from Kaszazz Resort collection and all other product used is also Kaszazz.  I started by laying the frame, without any adhesive, onto the striped paper and using pencil marks to indicate where it would lay.  I then cut strips to each of the marks and distressed the edges. See below. A half sheet of blue Designer Paper was then placed behind the distressed edges. The next step was to mix a small amount of Leaf Green Archival Ink into texture paste and then apply though Leaves stencil.  Moving to different angles as I progressed.  I also lifted some of the texture paste from areas between each leaf. For the Flourish Frame I first used white embossing powder (note I did emboss it twice). and then I applied Broken China Oxide Distress ink and then whipped over with a tissue to get affect.
