Stamps Ahead

On the 9th September, 2021 I went for a walk! To my beach - Umina Beach - it is just up the road and over the sand dunes.  I was feeling 'blah' and thought a little walk would do me good.  So off I set, well just as I made it over the sand dune, this glorious sunset was happening and I managed to capture a few photos.  Here is the layout I made today for a challenge over at Soul Scrapers Challenges: The challenge was one of my favourites - a tic tac toe board and I selected 3 photos, the colours of oranges, golds and browns and 3 word title. I used a newly released Kaszazz die - Colour Wheel and die cut the main wheel in the gold and the spokes in orange and brown. I also die the stars with a die that was in my stash. The 3rd and final Easter challenge over at White with 1 .  Here is my layout: Why 280 Degrees West as the title?  Last night, I looked out my side door and saw the most beautiful colours - quickly got my camera and headed out to take some photos. I then moved to smaller garden area I have facing west - therefore 280 degrees west refers to the compass direction from which I took the photo. I also managed to photograph the flowers blooming on my Camellia tree.  I must say it was the first time I have used the compass on my phone - much easier than trying to read an old fashioned compass!  Now the challenge was to use: 5 circles  4 stars 3 word title 2 patterned papers 1 photo To be honest this challenge took a little longer than the others as I searched my stash for just the right embellishments to use. This past weekend Kaszazz introduced 2019-2020 annual catalogue. In my previous post I shared with you my cards that were published in the catalogue. Our Kaszazz group had a retreat on the weekend and there was a challenge to create a project using one or more of the specialised papers that we have - tissue paper, acetate, glimmer paper and watercolour paper.  Here is my entry: The photo of the sunset was taken at Ettalong Beach on 12 June this year and I had it printed and sitting on my shelf since then just looking at that marvelous sky. All products used are by Kaszazz. After playing and trying out several ideas, I finally looked at my photo once again and thought I could do a layout and card using my photo for inspiration. I used tissue paper that was scrunched and then straightened out. I then applied to white cardstock with multi-medium gel.  After allowing this to dry I applied Ranger Distress Inks Black Soot, Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade and Stormy Sky.  ...

Well, here it is the first day of 2019 - Happy New Year to all.  Today was spent inside - too hot here to be out and about with another heatwave of a day. A perfect time to do some scrapbooking. Here is a layout I have created for a challenge over at ARTastic https://artasticchallengeblog.blogspot.com The challenge was to be inspired by this work of art by Chris Vella called Joy and the criteria was to use Yellow, Orange and Blue.                                            The colours automatically said "Sunset to me" so I decided to use this photo of sunset on Tuggerah Lake at Toukley, NSW I took in September 2018. I have used all products available from Kaszazz on this layout - yes, I am a consultant.  I hope you enjoyed seeing my first layout for 2019 with more to come throughout the year. I have completed two more challenge pages today - both for Mystical Scrapbooks.  1st challenge - Monochromatic Challenge - one colour with a minimum of white, black, kraft and grey. I went with pink.  The second night of my Trafalgar Tour Enchanting Maritimes was Fredericton, News Brunswick, Canada.  We stayed at Delta hotel and after dinner I went back to the room - on closing the curtains/drapes I saw this awesome sunset over Saint John River.  I love how the pink papers really highlighted the pink that was in the sunset. 2nd challenge -we had to incorporate  3 x squares in whichever way you want; 5 x rectangles in whichever way you want and 6 x circles used as embellishments.  Here is my layout: It has no photo on it (it will go in the rectangle bottom left) as I will be using this layout for a planned holiday to Europe and England later this year.  I have mostly used items from Boarding Pass range by October Afternoon. After a week and half of illness, I recovered sufficiently to attend this retreat this past weekend.  Here are a couple of photos of the sunsets over Lake Macquarie, where the retreat was held. There was still the smoke haze from bushfires in the area in the preceding week. Thursday @ sunset Friday @ sunset Saturday @ sunset (my favourite) As well as enjoying the sunsets I did manage to scrap some layouts - here is one, with more to follow in later blog posts. Cousins This layout was done in a class at the retreat.  The white CS had Gesso applied, left to dry and then Gelato crayon sticks used for the background (unfortunately it does not come up clear in this photo), the resulting streaks of Gelato's where then diluted with a baby wipe as I went around and around in a circle motion. Washi tape, a stamp of leaves coloured with Gelato's and a titlel complete the page of my cousin Julie and I. There is about 10 years difference in our ages (me being the elder) ...
