Mixed media layouts

Image
Sharing two layouts I have done recently.  Autumn layout for a new, to me, challenge group on Facebook  The Hut Creative  (Autumn layout) and the other another layout from the recent Scrapbook Fantasies Virtual Retreat.  For this layout, I created leaves using several types of paper and then die cut them using Sizzix die Leaf Fragments, and arranged them around my photo taken in Taralga, NSW during Autumn this year.  The background cardstock is from 3Quarter Designs Mocha Fix Collection. For colouring the leaves I used watercolour powders from Lucys and Colour Crush.  With the leaves I did not use I created tags and clusters to use on later projects. This layout was designed by mother and daughter - Alicia and Naomi-Jon Renshaw - of Scrapbook Fantasies.  I have used more of the beautiful papers in their Very Vintage Range.       Thank you for looking, Margaret

Folio Book

Here is a mini book I created during the past weekend virtual retreat with Scrapbook Fantasies  using their May release Very Vintage. Several photos follow: Cover - I used a stretch ribbon as my closure so that it can cope with photos to be added later. Internal flaps will hold at a minimum 12 photos.                             Now, a little confession - at the beginning of this project I found all the measurements confusing and several times I thought I am giving up!! However, I believed in myself to finish and put together a prototype using single sided scrapbook papers in my kit - it helped so much. Thank you for looking, Margaret

Epcot Disney World May 2024 and Flowergirl

Image
This weekend I am participating in a virtual retreat with Scrapbook Fantasies  - check them out for their story and products. This virtual uses one of their new releases - Very Vintage.  Here are 2 layouts I have completed so far: On 22nd May, 2024 with my friend Kathy, who lives in Florida, we visited Epcot for the day.  What a fun filled day it was.  One of the highlights for me was seeing the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival Topiaries. I took so many photos of each of the displays of Disney characters and more. With this layout I was able to add 17 photos. There are 3 small cards/booklets with 4 photos each and 2 flat cards double sided. I have more photos and I will cut down and tuck into the pockets. The layout below is of me when I was three and half and a flowergirl at my aunt and uncles wedding. Right up until their passings I was always introduced as "our little flowergirl". My dress was pink and made by my mother. I think I have rescued this photo - see tha...

Travel Journal

Image
I have started on making a travel journal - my sister and I are cruising (twice) later in the year and I think this will fit the bill nicely for recording travel experiences for these journeys.  Cover - using Stamperia Art of Travelling collection.  The chipboard from Hillbilly Shenanigans I only inked the bottom half with Distress Oxide Vintage Photo.  For the closure I used some of my tea-dyed calico that I cut into strips approx. 3/4".  Close up of the chipboard. Opening the cover - on the left is a large pocket and a small pocket that I created with the suitcase I fussy cut.  The pocket can hold tags and even say journey information.  On the right is a covered Art by Marlene (ABM) notebook and I will decorate pages later -  This shows the attached note book - I have not sewn it into the cover as I want to be able to remove it as I continue embellishing the and recording travel experiences. I first used some more of my ribbon to tie the book to the ...
