Sewing on scrapbook layouts
For the past couple of weeks I have been leading a group of ladies, at a local community group, as they complete scrapbooking layouts. I concentrated on showing them techniques they could easily replicate. This week I wanted to include sewing machine stitching on their layouts.
This is a layout I completed and it shows my sister and I enjoying pancakes with Raspberry Sauce in Berlin, Germany and yes we are still eating our way around Europe!!!
Here is a close up of some of the stitching.
I went to Pinterest to locate a sketch that I thought would be ideal for including stitching for beginners onto paper. I wanted straight line stitching with no curves. Here is the sketch I found. It is from Shimelle. Thank you Shimelle for the inspiration.
The other good thing about this layout was that I could show them how to use 6" square patterned paper and it would be a good way to use papers from your stash.
Thank you for looking, Margaret :)
The sewing machine joins what the scissors (or paper cutters) have cut asunder, plus whatever else comes in its path. ~Mason Cooley. Note: I added the paper cutters bit!!!
