Smile

Another Tic Tac Toe challenge over at Soul Scrappers - see below for the gird.  I chose the middle vertical line - button, gold, string or twine.
I started the background for this last month - it has lain idle - not sure I really like it!!! Why is it that I often don't like these more arty attempts?
This challenge was what started me on putting a photograph on it.
I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam Peach Bellini by first painting it onto a white cardstock and then I tipped the bottle on the top and let it dribble down the page.  A Heidi Swapp glitter gold sticker "Smile".  I then painted a contrast piece of paper with Glimmer Glam to form a photo matt, and at the top I have used flowers, twin and a cotton scalloped ribbon (that I applied some of the glimmer to as well - you can never have too much glitter can you?).   Buttons have twine bows and several smaller buttons were applied. Here is a close up of the sticker and also the background.

A little about the photo - in 2014 a lot of work was done on the Ettalong Beach foreshore, near where I live.  Included in the redevelopment was several of these workout stations.  Now anyone who knows me knows that I am not at all exercise minded - but it was just too good an opportunity to pass up.  Of course everyone exercises with a handbag, a summer dress and their best flip flops - but I did!!!!

Margaret!! I LOVE the background!! Just fabulous (the whole thing). Love the colors and the way you layered the flowers!!

January Cyberchallenge - punched flowers.

Images:(c)1990-2010 Stampin'Up(r) Artwork:Margaret L Crawford Our INKlings cyberchallenges have began for 2010. Tonight our leader, Jayne is setting the challenges. Our first challenge is to use SU punches to make a paper flower and use it on a card, scrapbook page or 3D item. I have used the round scallop punch (each flower has 3 punched scallops), cut a small way into each scallop and then pushed back to create a 3-D effect then I added a rhinestone brad to the centre of each flower. I used my markers to colour the leaves and then spritzed with water before adding to card. Challenge 1 completed.

Time stands still

Here is another layout I have created recently.  I have decided to post it for a challenge at ARTastic - I hope they allow more than one entry as I have already done one layout for their May challenge - Scrap the Girls. This photo was taken when I met up with friends that I attended TAFE with many years ago.  We completed the Advanced Needlecraft Certificate at Hornsby TAFE and became firm friends during this time.   But as life goes on we lost contact - until Facebook got us back together 20 years later!..  They caught the train up and we had lunch and much catch up at my home before a walk on the beach.   Again here is the inspiration photo at ARTastic, the criteria Girls Only. I was further inspired by a layout by Emily Pitt found on   Debbie Hodge  from 2013 that I found whilst blog surfing. Thank you Debbie I have left some thanks for you on your blog. Thank you for looking, Margaret.
