Here is a snippet of what I have been up to over the past month or so.  So please sit back and enjoy this rather large post - a visual record, for me, of what I have been creating. Small tags, lace, ribbon, fabric, stamps, buttons, pearls and tag pins.  Clusters and one way to use them, top left - create a pocket and put on the front. Base was a small piece of old and old quilted place mat with lots of free-style embroidery. Can be a brooch or decoration for a bag. Reminds me of crazy patchwork that I used to do. Snippet rolls created on a fabric base. The one in the middle is yet to be embellished. To the left is a cluster I made using piece cut off the embroidered one and I added paper to back. Doesn't it look great on this cotton reel I got from my sister.  More can be added to this roll ready to be used for clusters, belly bands or anything my heart desires. Small notepad made with off-cuts of paper with fabric and header.  2" squares often call twin-chies.  Bookmarks usin

Word of the year

For Christmas I was given some money so I registered for Laly Mille's New Beginnings course on her website , and each year she selects a 'word of the year' and she suggested that we join her in selecting our own word of the year. Mine is DISCOVER. I have never been one who went in for this in past however I have found since doing Laly's on-line classes that I have expanded my horizons and put the inner critic to sleep!!! This is a single art journal page I created. I found the selection of my word did not come easy. I recently ordered several items from Natalie May Scrapbooking including the Scrap FX stencil I have used on my art journal page and this I felt this was the word that was 'calling' me, although I did not buy it for this purpose. Serendipity!  I also purchased Tim Holtz idea-ology Chit Chat stickers and I selected several I thought would help me on my 'discover ' journey this year.  I also used more pastel colours that I usually would use - s

This is a layout I have created for a challenge over at SOUL Scrappers Challenges.  The challenge is a favourite of mine - Tic Tac Toe (TTT). Here is the TTT board - my selection die cuts, staples and tag (s) I went mixed media on this layout - gesso, Vintage Photo Crackle Paste, watercolour splotches and much more.  Die cuts/tags - all tags were die cut and covered. The orange cogs were die cut.  I also added some old and rusty 'things' I recently recovered, locally, from being thrown out! Staples - holding the title I stamped on calico.. Staples also on the tags to represent the cell bars.   This is what the layout looks like with tags tucked in the side.  Note: that gentleman you see is one of the exhibits in the ground.  Of course, he had to be included. Close up of the larger tags.  The pattern paper is actually photos I took, printed on matt paper and then chopped up!  I have also used tea bags that allowed to dry, removed the tea and then separated into longer pieces - I
