Street Art 101

Image
Here is a layout I created for a challenge at Soul Scrappers .  The inspiration was street art. I took this challenge literally and used a photo I took in December 2015 whilst in Innsbruck, Austria. It has been in my 'must get that onto a layout sometime' so today was that sometime! I found this graffiti on a university wall, across the road from the hotel we were staying in at Innsbruck....hence the 101 in my title. Did they not get into university! Did they not get their degree! I  have kept the layout fairly simple. I created a mask so that I could sponge ink as on the wall. A mix of chipboard from my stash coloured with ink finish off the layout. Thank you for looking, Margaret

Flowers to go!

Here a some cards I have created for class I lead at a local community group. Lately I've been inspired by flower stamps in my stash. Over at Soul Scrappers there is currently a card challenge to use flowers on your card. Perfect. I try to mix up techniques each week.  Stamping punched flowers and die cut.  Stamping and watercolouring. Yes, coloured outside of lines on purpose, great for those that don't like precision colouring! Stamping, punched squares layered and embossing. I am inspired by cards in Pinterest, in magazines, in nature, in my mind to keep my creative juices flowing. Thank you to all those that inspire me as I make 2 cards for each week of the year (ex school holidays). Thank you for looking and why not check out Soul Scrappers for this card challenge and also scrapbooking challenges. Margaret

Art Deco card

Well, the rains and the cold weather has arrived today. After months of record breaking heat it is great to see rain on the east coast of Australia. Alas, not sure it will affect drought ares though. See what is a girl to do.....create of course. This is a card I created today for this week's community card group that I lead. This image and greeting were part of a free set that has been in my stash for years and never used.  I found some silver glitter paper in that said stash just perfect. I used colouring in pencils, my favourite Faber Castell polychromos, and finished off with a Sparkle Silk in silver. I love it I hope you do as well. Margaret
