I love it when.......

...I read my live traffic feed. Whether you are from Australia or overseas, I get a real kick out of your visits, picturing the town where you live and if you are from a place that I have visited, the memories. Thank you all.

"Lots of thoughts" heart card.

You will recall that I made a Valentine's Day card with heart template, it is just as versatile for other events during the year.Tomorrow I am teaching at a local neighbourhood centre, here are 2 of the cards that they will be creating. Lots of Thoughts is a good set - the right words for the right occasion. Images: (c) 1990-2008 Stampin'Up! (r) Artwork: Margaret L Crawford

Blue Mountains

Image
Guess what I did today? I went to the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney. A friend from Ireland and I walked the Giant Staircase (about 1000 steps) down, from the Three Sisters at Katoomba, along a ridge and then we caught the scenic railway up to the top. In all it took about 2 hours. A great day to do walking, not too hot and not too cold. My sister and another friend were waiting with a picnic lunch at the end of the journey. If you could hear me now there are a few "ooh's and aagh's" happening as I sit here and every muscle is fighting another. Here are some photos. Enjoy. I am off to have a couple of aspirin!!! I will scrapbook later. The first photograph is of Katoomba Falls. Recent rain has made for increased water flow over the falls. The second photo is of yours truly with the Three Sisters in the background - taken at the end of the walk and before we boarded the train back to the top.

Valentine's Day

Image
Here is a card I made for my niece to give to her Valentine (boyfriend) today. Requirements were" "just something cute & simple, I love you or something". I have used a template I found over at Splitcoast Stampers for the heart and I slipped a little note into the heart. Happy Valentine's Day all. Images: (c) 1990-2008 Stampin' Up! My news - I'm off to China.

I will be leaving shortly to teach English in China. I am heading for a university in Hunan Province and I will be teaching English for university studies. I will be a Director of Studies (DOS) and there will be 2 other teachers working with me. I was recently interviewed by The Sun-Herald for an article (p68, if you still have your copy), that appeared in last Sunday's edition. Here it is: My scrapbooking and cardmaking supplies (well some of them) will be coming with me. There are Friday night sessions where students can come and practice their English in a social setting - I can see a lesson here! I caught up with some friends,on Sunday, for lunch at The Waterfront Italian Restuarant. Here is a photograph I took with the Sydney Opera House in the background - last Sunday in Sydney was wet and it continues to rain. But wet or sunny the Opera House remains one of my most favourite buildings. The next two photographs were taken from Circular Quay railway station and show the Syd
