Scrapbook layouts for fundraising event.

Yesterday, I was the class leader of a scrapbooking day that raised funds for a school in Kissi, Kenya. Here are the layouts that I taught. Many people also contributed to the day with food, donations of goods etc. Thank you to everyone. I do not represent any particular company and use product from many sources.  Where possible today I have indicated those sources.
Melissa Kennedy owner of Unmistakable Creations kindly donated packs of Kaisercraft Marigold papers and stickers to the event.   Here is the first layout that they got to make  - now several of the ladies wanted to make a 'boy' page and in the pack was paper suitable for them to create a male version of the page.    The photo on my layout was taken on our April Cruise with Melissa - why not check out her website Unmistakable Creations and see what cruises she has coming up. Thank you Melissa for your donation - the ladies loved the papers.
This is the second layout they created.   Firstly, they mixed some Gesso paste (I find this the best for class situations but would work with any pastes available on the market) with some blue re-inker and applied using a mask.  This layout uses a lot of Stampin'Up! product that is newly released - Pattern Party Decorative Masks ( $10 for 4 different masks - bargain I say), Whole Lot of Lovely DSP and cardstock, wood veneer stars and hearts and they now have Sizzix Multipurpose adhesive sheets as well - the word 'memory' was adhered using this product.  The die cuts are Kaisercraft.
I hand made the 'ruff puffs' to add to the layout.  You may also remember them called Suffolk Puffs or Yo-Yo's
The photograph of me 'holding up the ancient coral ledge' was taken in Mare, New Caledonia again on my Unmistakable Cruise in April.  Thank you to Debbie Hodge - Get it Scrapped for the inspiration for this layout.
This was the final double page layout.   The border strips and quote are Kaisercraft.  The background on the white cardstock is made using a circle stencil, apply a small amount of watercolour crayon around the inside circle - about half of the circle.  Apply a small amount of water with water and a brush. Thank you to Debbie Hodge - Get it Scrapped for the inspiration for this layout.
The photographs were taken at a scrapbook retreat this year where we were asked to 'come dressed as a rock star'.   I was the construction worker from Village People and others came as Elvis, Bob Marley, Cilla Black, Tiny Tim, and how cannot smile at the originality of Bread.
I also made the name tags for us all from bits and pieces in my stash.
And, of course there had to be some sweeties for each person - I found the quote when searching the internet.
My inspiration for the layouts came from many sources, I love searching the internet reading magazines and coming up with layouts that will challenge and inspire.
As a result of the day much needed funds will be donated to the school in Kenya.
Thank you for everyone who came and learned new techniques and even stepped out of the comfort zones, everyone who helped and to you for reading through this rather longish post.
Margaret.
