Happy cards

Image
It has been a rather drab and dreary weather lately here in Australia, so why not a couple of cards to make you feel happy.  Created with one of my all time favourite Stampin Up! (SU) sets Inspired by Nature, it has a date of 2004 on the stamps.  Every year I like to get this stamp pad out and think of ways to use it.  It has two sides this is one side and the side has daisy type flowers.  This year I went with the grasses side.   I was inspired by a card I saw on Splitcoast Stampers that in turn was inspired by a card by Jayne Mercer - ironically Jayne was my SU upline when I was a demonstrator with them. The greeting on the side is also another old SU favourite. A new stamp set and dies to play with from Close to my Heart (CTMH) and the set is called In Full Bloom. CTMH created this set especially for card makers and so the greetings are smaller that the larger ones they do for scrapbooking.    I really love the set and there are more little ima...

Mystical Challenges

Image
This past weekend I participated in a Colour Cybercrop over at Mystical Scrapbooks.  Here are the 3 layouts I created for the 3 challenges. Challenge 1 - create a monochromatic layout.  Photo was of sunrise on 22nd April, 2022 at Coolum Beach, Queensland.  I loved the moodiness of the photo. Challenge 2 - a layout showcasing "Orange" Challenge 3 - be inspired by a colour palette above. My sister and I were on a short holiday over the Anzac week and we had limited scrapbook supplies with us. My sister had purchased a paper pack at Spotlight and I used 3 sheets from this pack to create my layout. Torn paper, simple line stitching, fussy cutting and a chipboard from another project I was working on. The colours are more muted than the provided colour palette. Thank you for looking, Margaret

Easter Fun

Image
I created this layout for a challenge over at Soul Scrappers Challenges The challenge is a sketch challenge, here is the sketch that formed the basis of the layout - you could flip it or rotate to suit whatever photos you had, as long as could see the sketch. The photos are of my great-nephew, not yet 4, and were taken today, Easter Sunday, by his mother. My sister and I had got together a few Easter surprises for him that we posted to his home in time for Easter, and you can see my gift in the photo on the left. He loves books of all kinds. Little Golden books were a favourite of mine as a child and I read them constantly - I remember The Twins (always reminded me of my sister and I, we are not twins but just 13 months apart, and dressed alike) and also Dr Dan the Bandage Man (I think because this one had a band-aid in it) and I hope that my great-nephew gets lots of enjoyment out of reading his Easter ones.   I have used papers from my stash on this layout. The chipboard is ...
