Two cards

Image
I have recently agreed to lead a class of cardmaking at a local community group once a week.  Here are a couple of cards that the ladies made with me last week. For the first card I was inspired by a video by Sandi McIver .  I have had the Stampin' Up! Pleasant Poppies stamp for ages and have never used it.   It is a background stamp and is full of lots of poppies and I think that is what held me back.   I love this card, it uses the faux letterpress background and have used markers to colour the images. The ladies also had the option of changing the greeting to suit their needs.  Thank you Sandi for your inspiration. The second card also uses an old retired stamp set by Stampin Up called Easter Blossoms, I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest by Sarah Milbourn .  Thank you Sarah for your inspiration.  Now, some of the ladies, did not want to do an Easter Card so they had the option of punching out some small flowers for ...

Autumn in Bendigo 2012

Image
It is a wet and somewhat miserable day today - some sun but very briefly. It is autumn here in Australia at present.  So why not get some layouts completed.  This layout is for a challenge over at Soul Scrappers  and it was to be inspired by the lyrics in Memory as sung by Barbra Steisland. I was inspired by the words 'the withered leaves collect at my feet....'.   I remembered that I had some photos taken when our Book Club had a road (plane and road really) trip to Bendigo in Victoria.  I love these photos and they have been sitting just waiting for the right time to scrap them - albeit 5 years later!!! The papers and stickers came from We R Memory Keepers Harvest range. We had fun walking through the leaves and swishing them with our feet.   Here are the song lyrics - to sing along with. "Memory" Midnight Not a sound from the pavement Has the moon lost her memory She is smiling alone In the lamplight The withered le...

Christmas Day 2016

Image
Here is 'my beach' on Christmas Day 2016, taken about 9am as I headed out for the day. The past few Christmas's had seen overcast days but in 2016 a beautiful sunny day. Another layout completed on the weekend retreat. This is a clean and simple layout.  Washi tape x 2 has been applied around the central square. The shell stamp has been stamped on a piece of white cardstock, with Distress Ink Antique Linen applied.  I then cut out the shell and with some simple stamping around it.    Today, looks like a wet and windy one. My cousin and her husband who are staying in a local caravan park will come around today and we are going to make some cards. It is planned that we will be going out on a BBQ boat for lunch but with thunder and rain happening at present that looks like a plan that will not come off.   Enjoy whatever you are doing today.  Margaret :)

Challenge layouts continued.

The next layout was for sketch challenge at  Soul Scrappers . Here is the challenge sketch that we were to be inspired by: The photos are of me singing Christmas Carols at the local community group (Pastimes) where I am the currently table leader for the card table.   A wonderful group of ladies.  These were taken at the break up party last November.  The musical note paper and the Kaisercraft music stamps were just calling out to be used on the layout.  Thank you for looking, Margaret :)

Scrapbook challenges - The Memory Nest.

Image
This weekend I went on a scrapbooking retreat, fairly local to me.   I completed a couple of layouts for some challenges as well as other layouts and 36 artist trading cards, which I can't share just at the moment.  Here is the first one for The Memory Nest . Here is the challenge layout: A little about the photo.  My sister made me an advent calendar for Christmas 2016 - It was a mini-muffin tin and inside she put lots of little surprises for me to open each day.   I have used some of the embellishments on the layout.   Here is a close up of the string of Christmas icons. Thank you for looking, I will be back soon with the other challenge I completed on the weekend. Off to dinner now.  Cheers, Margaret :)
